This is one of the best videos you guys have ever put out. A ton of work you guys put is really paying off. I love seeing the head to head with all of these trucks.
ОтветитьThank you guys for making 1 cohesive video that compares most of the midsize segment. Also as far as overloading the Gladiator, if it’s a true truck it should be able to handle being slightly overloaded.
ОтветитьBullshit on the price....you can get a 2024 frontier pro4x for $37,000 new; best truck by far is the ranger, but most for your money is the frontier; this guy's are so biased , I like the Colorado looks, Ridgeline is not a truck, jeep is garbage, and Toyota lost its MOJO; and I own a Toyota Tundra and a sequoia
Ответитьhell yea chevy baby owned nothin but my 91 has over 556000 miles now still looks sharp
ОтветитьChevy is Chevy
Ответитьwhat are the brake applications about ?
ОтветитьWhat a great video. Always enjoy the back to back comparisons
ОтветитьHonestly I don't understand how Tesla drivers are only 2nd to Nissan Altima drivers when it comes to being the WORST, the biggest dangers to normal commuters. But while the Altimas don't have many features, the Tesla can LITERALLY DRIVE ITSELF.
HOW CAN YOU HAVE THE AUTOMOTIVE EQUIVALENT OF AIMBOT AND STILL SUCK?
After 10 brake applications, remember just jump out and abandon your truck. Save yourself.....
ОтветитьWhy wouldn't you use the packages with max towing capabilities for each truck for a towing video?
ОтветитьThat straight 4 with turbos man. My brain used to think more cylinders more better, but that ain’t the way it is.
ОтветитьA dodge Dakota basically lives on a trailer anyway so, why not?
ОтветитьSee, ive got an idea, my 4wd astrovan against anything 6 banger and smaller.
Please bring a Toyota, I have a week off in August ish.
Paid $200 for it, total is 1k because that's what gets it done, a $1 k challenge against my daily driver, I get to keep the looser
No at4 gmc?
You're missing the true cousin to the colorado, hell the colorado has to be spec'd for high output engine vs gmc's all across the board high output.
So, the Colorado did the worst on downhill breaking, good but not the best 0-60, and among the best but not the best at the uphill time, but it somehow ended up the best? Extra points for being his truck?
ОтветитьI disagree with that result the Colorado had High temps, the Ford did not and I am not a Ford guy I was rooting for the Colorado or the Taco. the Taco's performance has been a bit disappointing tbh.
ОтветитьThe ridgeline would have done as good as the gladiator. More payload, more reliable, better ride. Buy a jeep to do jeep stuff.
ОтветитьThe toyo will be the only one still going in 8 years, as long as you dont treat it like a truck, wheres the vw?
ОтветитьThat frontier. Lol.. what a hortible engine for a truck. That goes for all the na v6s. Its obvious the people that want these things do no work with them.
ОтветитьYou should have just done the tow test using the max the Ridgeline could tow and use that with all vehicles.
Or what you did plus the Honda @ it’s max.
Who cares if it’s not Body on Frame? - I prefer monocoque all day!
It’s rude to be towing in 2WD when you’re supposed to be driving 4WD vehicles. Yeah I know why - but a 4WD should be 4WD all the time.
These payloads are tiny. My Discovery Sport SUV has a 759kg payload (1673lb).
I don't like the results of this test
ОтветитьWish Mazda put out a new B2000, and undercut the entire market, give us decent towing, simple read less tech inside and good styling and price it 10k less than all others.
ОтветитьHonda ridgeline is for bankers that need to haul their wives gardening mix.
ОтветитьHas tfl ever done an ike with the eco diesel?
Ответитьto answer the question for what is different on the colorado is the tire pressure the last time was around 33psi compared to 38 or 40 psi this time may have something to do with it but i could be wrong
ОтветитьGladiator is a great lifestyle vehicle but obviously the worst truck here. Also, it is horribly overpriced. Stellantis needs to improve the Power of the Gladiator AND lower prices.
ОтветитьYa, clearly the GM and Ford are the best all-arounders when doing everything, and towing in particular. Their payloads are so good for their size, and they towed the best. I expected the Gladiator to suck at this because I remember the IKE test from a few years ago where it was tested at max towing and it BARELY passed on the low side of adequate when towing 7000+, and it has the oldest and least powerful engine. It will absolutely benefit from a new Hurricane engine. The Toyota did quite well without the hybrid system. The Nissan also did better than I thought it would, but Nissan needs to put a hybrid in it because its value proposition is already paling fast against Ford, GM, and Toyota. The Frontier is about the surest thing for product sales that Nissan has outside of cheap CUVs, and they have got to bring Frontier's sales numbers up.
ОтветитьMan I can't believe they've been doing IKE for 12 years. I remember when they first started. Best truck test concept ever.
Ответить...yet, our society of chimps will continue to buy the hell out of Tacomas.
ОтветитьI don't understand why the Ranger has such low payload compared to the Australian models. Nearly half its rated capacity.
ОтветитьI stopped watching when you guys talked about the Nissan Frontier Hard Body being "expensive" compared to the other trucks. YO.... it is THE MOST EXPENSIVE TRUCK TRIM for Nissan. Starting price for it is higher than any other Frontier. Now... play that game with the Toyota. -_- That Toyota only comes out cheaper if it's a TRD Off Road with nothing added. I'm starting to get disappointed with you guys because you all are starting to sound like Toyota homers.
ОтветитьHonestly I'd like for all these trucks to quit doing refreshes so often in favor of reliability and price
Ответитьlistening to you guys talk about the rear end ratios as if it would make any difference in this test in vehicles with 8-10 speed transmissions is funny. You're "stuck" in old-school thinking when every vehicle had either a 3 or 4 speed transmission and they all had pretty similar ratios. Without also considering the differences in tire diameter, specific gear ratios, and engine HP peak band, it's a pointless piece of information.
Similarly, comparing engine torque is also far less meaningful these days. Pulling a trailer up a hill is an energy equation, not a static force equation. The actual work done is all that matters. The turbine engine in an abrums tank makes less shaft torque than your chevy colorado, yet can move 140K lbs of iron and tracks through the sand at 40mph. Go do the math on that one and then see if engine torque ever means the same thing to you again. It's academic at best.
Why no Ridgeline?
ОтветитьI think my 2000 Suburban with over 200 thousand miles will perform just as good if not better than some of these vehicles. And yes I tow vehicles with my Suburban often.
ОтветитьI absolutely love how they don’t baby the trucks, I mean 5700 rpms for 8 mins straight at full throttle is not easy. They actually ring the shit out of these trucks and I love it, especially since so many people tell me that full throttle is bad for it, when in reality it is in fact designed to be run hard like that. When I tow with my 2011 f150 5.0 I definitely run that shit hard and people tell me I shouldn’t, but then I’m the only one with a still good working truck haha.
ОтветитьI want to see the test of what condition these trucks will be in after 15 years and which one will have the fewest problems? That's more important to me than features and performance?
ОтветитьNissan SV = Nissan Shitty Vehicle. The interior is pathetic its performance is poor and it’s ugly as hell. Well done Nissan. If it’s not a GT-R it’s not worth the tires it rides on.
ОтветитьUnfortunate there isn’t a way to factor in reliability. Memory can be selective - what about all of those issues Andre had when he first took ownership of his Colorado. It wouldn’t even run! Chevy and Ford have been building trucks for decades anc reliability is still an issue. I so want to buy a Chevy or Ford, but just can’t as I have a phobia for visiting mechanics.
ОтветитьAndre the Russian….go back to your motherland!!! Note: Andre has never condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine or the war crimes Russians have committed during this war. Some may say that it is unfair to question him about this. Really? He makes money off of views and I’d like to know where he stands before giving him a cent for my views. Come at me but you know I’m in the right here!
ОтветитьYall should really start using the cruise control in your testing and let the truck do the work…
ОтветитьFer gawd sakes..... Measure the height from the floor/footwell area to the seat on the old Tacoma and measure the height from the same areas on this new one. And then..... measure the same thing on ANY of the other trucks in this video. what is this monstrous difference that ONLY you media guys seem to be going on about!!!!
ОтветитьRam have the Rampage but only for South American market
ОтветитьParallel steering system. That’s the word “the brain” should use to describe the jeep steering system on a solid front axle.
ОтветитьWhat I took away from this is that brand new mid sized trucks are too expensive. If I had to buy one I would get a used new model frontier. I like the fact that it still has a V6.
ОтветитьThe Nissan Frontier is the best...you guys only think of Ford and Toyota Tacoma..you guys don't tell the truth...
ОтветитьI'm sure the Chevy has been on the market a lot longer than the Ramger so the sales should be higher
ОтветитьAndre don't replace your rear end replace your truck with the Ford
ОтветитьL200?
ОтветитьThanks!
