ОтветитьI don't want to improve my body because I envy others. I want to do it for me. And because it would be healthy. Also because I have Tourettes, and my parents always theorized that if I put on weight and muscle, my Tourettes could go away one day. At the end of the day, though, what's important is that we remember no one has it all figured out. Insecurity is natural, especially at a young age. I may be a bit insecure about my body or skills at times, but I've had plenty of people who I admire tell me that they envy me for the sheer number of things I'm good at, even if I don't consider myself an expert at anything. If you're physically fit, you might be jealous of someone else's intelligence. If you're academically achieved or skilled at a craft, you might be jealous of someone else's fitness. The bottom line for both scenarios, though, is that the more time you spend worrying, the worse you'll perform and the more time you'll waste. Confidence is just as important as humility, and with a healthy and happy mindset, hard work can be synonymous with fun. That's how we improve. If you've ever been good at something, this should feel familiar to you, as it applies to everything. The reason we become good at things is because we are having fun doing them. There are many things I want to become good at, but every time, it is always out of inspiration. Not out of envy. I have ambitions because I want to please myself, not because I want to please others. The reason people struggle with self-doubt is not always from failure to see immediate results, but also because of their own lack of action. If you don't do anything about it, of course you'll feel bad. But if you're constantly learning, improving, and - most importantly - enjoying yourself, it's a lot easier to feel good about yourself.

And many have gone through eat disorders but they started getting help or helped themselves. and what they all said is compare yourself to yourself it’s better to compare yourself to yourself since if you see your progress you will feel better about yourself never compare yourself to someone who worked out for 9 years.
I workout I don’t go to the gym I do calisthenics at home and some lifting with plated weighted in a bag and I have gone throughe stuff like this but I’ve learned to just see my progress and to feel proud of it.

I relate to that a lot as a trans guy that isn't thin. I am overweight for people my age and it also kinda aches me that I wont be able to have the muscles that most boys will have. Thank you for spreading body Dysmorphia awareness, I feel a bit better

ОтветитьWhen I was young I was really skinny. It was quite normal if you ask me but not for my relatives. They always said stuff like "You are too skinny","You need to gain weight","You are unhealthy like this"... And I always thought there was something wrong with me. Than I started to gain a lot of weight. I didn't do anything to gain weight, I was simply in growing phase. After that I got a little fat. Still normal for a young boy but my relatives started complain about me being fat this time. They kept saying that I should do something to lose weight. I got a little depressed and started eating less and less. Than, one day I realised that I sholudn't do anything about my body just to satisfy others. The only person who should feel satisfied must be me. Today, I am still a bit chubby but I am the way that I am only because I want to be. And, this is enough😊
