Great technology!
ОтветитьI don’t understand why you give this information out for all to see,and the area of manufacture . Normally it would be classified or Top Secret. I’d say it’s Crackers .keep uk assets away from 3rd parties.don’t broadcast it.
ОтветитьGood for Thales in keeping and running these longstanding important sites in Britain, but where's the British corporation that imo should really be doing this? BAe are hit and miss
ОтветитьNice…. But why do they release this info…. Who got be listening..
Ответить70s backwards
ОтветитьMore of these videos pls.. and every important company in the UK is not UK owned all French. THALES than EDF all nuclear facilities etc etc.
ОтветитьNot being funny, but exactly how many periscopes is that per month? Maybe 2?
Ответитьwow!
ОтветитьVery interesting video, surprised OP SEC doesn't prevent this kind of content.
Ответить🇬🇧 The Submariners of the Royal Navy are a special breed, quietly getting on with it - I salute you all... 🫡🍻
Engineers, excellent work! 💪🏻
Thanks for sharing,
Gus 👍🏻
really cool
I'm a chinese spy Im just taking notes
Thank you at least we build something in Britain 👍
ОтветитьI liked the stabilizer, the demo was amazing when we viewed the difference. Cool video.
ОтветитьIts like science fiction 😊
ОтветитьThere not protecting the English Channel very well
ОтветитьGreat that you can get a 360 view without maintaining a long periscope wake.
ОтветитьGreat British engineering, owned by french company what a success
ОтветитьWhat is the companies original name because Thales is a French corporation
ОтветитьWow ... impressive Scots industrial heritage! 🏴👏
ОтветитьToo bad they gave up the Barr & Stroud name.
ОтветитьAt least something it's made in UK and it's not Chinese...
ОтветитьHopefully, they will create tiny drones that can be released deep undewater from a holding compartment on the sub. Once it gets to the waterline, it could then hover as high as a periscope would, take/send the images, and then either self-destruct or dive back into the water and return to the sub. Heck, it could just be tethered, so once it's done sending the images, it could just fall back into the water and be pulled back by the tether and returned to its compartment. We surely have the materials and tech to do that now. I have fancy ideas.
ОтветитьWhy do you need to use a camera that spins when you could just have sensors all the way around to save even more time and also reduce mechanics that can fail?
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьI remember many moons ago, travelling up and back from Anniesland with Rapier Optical tracker units for upgrades and modifications.
ОтветитьStop posting this stuff. 🤦🏽
ОтветитьDisappointed. I hoped it would be about building a periscope.
ОтветитьThales, Glasgow….Used to be Barr & Stroud, Anniesland.
ОтветитьThat first guy is such an officer wannabe
ОтветитьSecurity isn't a dirty word...... Don't take photos of assets, people and put them online has been banded around for years..... Then for all to see.... Here we are on the Internet, no point putting fences up and having id cards and procedures. The counter Intel guys are gleening snippets everyday from this channel to one day build the picture they need.
Ответитьzamzam water sir
ОтветитьGlasgow has a great maritime history.During my service in the RN I was drafted on a brand new type 21 frigate built in Glasgow, we had a short visit to Glasgow for fine tuning snagging maintenance the dockyard was incredibly efficient and professional,
Inside the dockyard was a totally different world than the city centre. Having an English accent was a magnet for trouble. Luckily I had Scottish parents and knew what to expect from years of family holiday visits and I can take on a convincing Scots accent when needed.
So Glasgow was a mixture of the highest respect and none whatsoever 😅
its either old tech or someone was asleep on the security details
ОтветитьIts like something from the last century..astonishing😮
Ответить🫡🤎🇨🇦🇬🇧
ОтветитьNowadays there should be something like drone that can swim and dive can do the job. Use the way of AI to monitor. Underwater drone with sonar detect should be the future.
ОтветитьWow, Ben really let himself go.
ОтветитьWith the advances in sensors technology, it is not just excellent optics but it should be able to view with infra-red, thermal imaging as well. Able to zoom at 100 times minimally is a necessity.
ОтветитьFascinating. A company called Barr & Stroud was responsible for the optical "search" and "attack" scopes on previous classes of UK subs (SSNs, SSBNs and SSKs alike). Seems they're now part of Thales (UK).
ОтветитьClosed captions can’t cope with a Scottish accent. And I’ve no idea what he was saying either. Luckily the script was published elsewhere.
ОтветитьThe English doing a great job as always.
