The SECRET organized mail & receipts! (NO MORE CLUTTER!)

I didn’t understand where the odd year files went- they went to temporary storage? Where is that? What does that mean? Please explain.
I would love to simplify my filing system.

Im an aspiring actor and I have some questions... know your husband does your editing but I was hoping you could let me know what kind of lighting, video and editing equipment you use?

I thought you had to keep receipts etc for 7 years?

I know that you were/are a teacher. Do you have any ideas on how to organize school paperwork, copies, paperwork, work, etc? I get overwhelmed by it.

Maybe I am stubborn, or maybe I still don't fully understand the benefits of her Odd/Even year separated by months. I still prefer my filing method by different types: i.e bank A, bank B, tax, insurance, contracts .. etc. Cos if filing by month ... sometimes u are not sure which month it happened. Whereas, if its file by Type (which u surely cannot miss), and in chronological order, you can surely track the specific letter u want to track!

I'm sorry, but I feel like this is horrible advice. By month? All my car documents (oil changes etc) need to go in the SAME file folder for when I sell my car or whatnot. On a budget? Who has that much storage space. I fear someone young will try this system and it just won't work and the'll suffer a lot for it. (No joke - not finding important documents when you need them is no good.) I don't know - maybe this does work. It just doesn't seem like a good idea at all to me. The first part about FILE, ACTION, or TAX docs was cool (those pesky tax docs - gotta collect them). Sounds like GETTING THINGS DONE. It seemed like he changed the way a generation of people think and organize and how they think about organizing. I only left a comment bc I hope some young person doesn't follow this system and then fall short...maybe you can elaborate on how you find items you need etc and go into more detail? It's a busy busy life for most hard working people...and we need things quick fast and organized.

I have been using this method for years and love it! I struggle with all the magazines, community papers, area guides, etc. I don't always have time to read them right away and they pile up on my counter. Any suggestions?

I have a question- you say to file your Bill's on the month that it happens
My question is I always try to keep my mortgage ahead so do I file on the due dates or when I pay that bill?
Or if I got a medical bill and it become over due - do I file it when I pay it or place it in the bills due date
- it would be great if you can help me please?

What areas do you have for permanent files. Reorganizing my mail because I have it by type and it’s supper annoying and overwhelming but don’t know what items I should keep permanently. Mortgage statements, house insurance? I don’t know ahhhhhhhh

Does not work. I have receipts and bills I need to find later, 1 mo, 2, 3, 6 month, 1 year, 2, 3 for various reasons, grouping by month would be a nightmare to find these bills and receipts. Shredding should be every seven years. Usless system

What kinds of paper do you suggest we hold on to. I feel like I’m a paper hoarder and will find myself holding on to alot of paper because I feel I may need, also to add I’m doing my masters and I teach at a preschool. I’ve been struggling with this for years HELP! We blended families and systems 10 years ago. My husbands office is on the first floor, mine on the second. I sort mail. Hubs has a quasi system. I put bills on his chair he pays them. There are odd bills in the organizer, haven’t been paid. Ugh I explain all about organizing, he says he agrees but no improvement. Not true, got him to stop plopping mail on island? What to do? 💖🦩

OMG my house is so beautiful and clean until you walk in my bedroom😬 my mail is all over the dresser and no matter how I clean and organize it the clutter returns. My husband recommend me buying a file cabinet to label our important papers 6 mths ago. I kept saying I'm going to buy a fire box.
Today is the day. 7/6/22 😁 we have to rearrange bedrooms and move upstairs BC our 24 yr daughter has to move back home so I'm buying the cabinet today no excuses. I love your videos💕🤗

How do you know what month to search to locate something if they’re not otherwise categorized?

Before shredding, digitalize the documents into a secure cloud storage. Helpful in situations of needing a specific document years back for any reason.

What Types of papers are monthly? How long should we keep certain papers? What are short term and long term papers to keep?

Why odd year and even year?

The problem with organizing by month is if you need to find all the paperwork on a certain topic, you have to go through all your file folders! If you want to bring medical records to a new doctor, good luck.

what if you cant remember when or what month but can only remember by item or topic❓❓can this make month filing more difficult ❓🫤
