A strange experience to find so unappealing a guy with whom I agree almost totally... know what I mean? Maybe it's the sunglasses.

So, is American HODL still retired with Bitcoin's current price at $20k? Given that BTC hasn't yet penetrated the supply chains of most retail products, all of those BTC that American HODL is "spending" is actually just being sent to the exchanges to be immediately exchanged for fiat. In other words, those BTC are not going on the balance sheets of any of the companies that produce the products that he's "buying" every day to keep his family alive.

It's understandable why people call Bitcoin a ponzi scheme. It would be one thing if all of our groceries were priced in the stores in satoshis, but it's not really obvious to the lay person why they would want to get involved with this stuff.

I'm an American. China has been a country for 1,000s years. We are 200 something. I'm pretty sure China would be fine. We are just the young hot rookie about to blow out our ACL

I got a huge "Aha!" moment when Michael Saylor talked about the inflation and that it applies not only to money, but can be abstracted to ideas, services etc.
We all know that - when the cost of writing a post on social network is virtually zero, then will see people writing opinions about everything - especially if they have no skin in the game.
On the other hand, you have something to lose if you are famous and you put your name on something. Then you care more.
My most worrying realization is that laws are also inflationary and every country have more laws than ever - the number of rules the society has is always increasing, but our capacity to comply is limited, as well as the capacity of the state to enforce them - unfortunately, the state can increase it's capacity using taxes. The system is unstable and the ever-present inflation just decreases its stability - that's why we see more and more crises - I believe these are prodromes for a one real social crisis. I can recommend a book "Skin in The Game" from Nassim Taleb, that discusses these phenomena.

To me, your view does not count on abortion, Peter. Women's rights trump what you would like to happen in respect of abortions. You need to stop hanging out with the so called Libertarians and US bitcoiners et al who don't wish for women to have rights over their body. I prefer to not end a life but it is up to the woman. Rape is not the debate, that is a no brainer. If a man keeps care of business most abortions would not be required. Sigh.

Of course there is a class system in the UK. As you mentioned, you have the political and Caste system i.e. those who are described commonly as the 'Elite' and aristocracy. The Working Class still exists as does the Middle Class although they've been stripped out. They remain in a better position than the working class. You need to get out more, McCormack, especially in more deprived city areas and the north/south divide still exists.

great show. since entering btc my perspective on basically everything financial/markets/retirement/economics/politics etc has morphed and these world views have been in almost constant tension and influx of new ideas and angles of looking at how the world works and I have to tell you it has been the most overwhelming but also exciting and awakening time of my life. I didnt realize it was possible to be way more terrified of the future while simultaneously being less scared of the future! hahaha.... two thumbs up for the btc "deep dive" everyone needs to go down to the bottom and push themselves to their absolute breaking point, whatever rises to the top and survives only does so because it has earned the right to exist. cheers to ten thousand hours of pain and self reflection which lends itself to a lifetime of freedom and understanding
