Living off of the blood of Black Americans and our plight to dismantle legalized discrimination where these people are beneficiaries. It is amazing how these people never cite the boxes they check and the US Government gives them a clean, fresh start. They start with how they came with less than $100 in their pockets which is a bold lie.

The Ethiopians are the refugee r@aches of DC. They are not immigrants. They are supported by the US government; given subsidies based on refugee resettlement. They had the audacity to want to rename historical Black areas of the city named after our Black leaders, Langston Hughes, Banneker, etc. They wanted to rename U Street to "Little Ethiopia". Furthermore they contribute absolutely nothing to the economy of DC.

As an Ivorian I must say that I really do adore East African culture with all of my being. I recently got a cookbook to learn Somali, Ethiopian, Eritrean, Kenyan, Tanzanian and more East African foods. Exposing myself to your cuisines by cooking it myself has singlehandedly brought back my love for cooking and makes me appreciate your culture dearly. I've made a few dishes so far and I consider this to be the first time I've truly cooked and enjoyed food for what it is. I'm 21 at the moment, so I'm starting to appreciate real food even more at a great and early age. I hope to truly master many different African recipes and expose those around me to it as well as time goes by. The online exposure to this community has blessed my soul so much that I'm thrilled to experience it in person, and authentically. Thank you for this video.

Unfortunately Ethiopia has been occupied and colonized by the Italians in 1935. They perpetrate huge massacres against civilians and this is still a black page of history our government do not like to talk about. Marcus and your beautiful wife, you both are adorable !!

They're literally eating potatoes and hot peppers while saying that the food is uninfluenced by other cultures: potatoes and hot peppers are indigenous to the Americas and only the Americas. 🤦🏿‍♀️

Sudan was colonised by the British, but the Brits never left anything behind in terms of food or culinary and cuisine to be affected by.
You might find other African food influences but not British until very recently when the Arabic cuisine had infested the capital Khartoum.

Not being racist, just speaking truth to correct some misinformation here. DC was primarily European American long before it was African American. You can merely look at the photos from that time, the bussing of schools, the cemeteries, etc. much less: talk to the ppl still alive who lived there or their parents, etc. We're talking 1940's & prior.

Ethiopian has been my top 3 favorite cuisine to eat for decades. Besides the beautiful flavors and happy experience of eating it, what I love most about Ethiopian is that Conagra has not infiltrated the essential ingredients. The simple, wholesome, preparations would not be the same if the ingredients were overly-processed, genetically engineered, profit-over-health type. Having traveled throughout the US and trying Ethiopian in any city in which I could find it, I really love how the restaurants consistently stuck to traditional recipes and preparations-
