Ответить@rodian10 It sure did have a lot of history , alot of great bands have played there. So sad to see it go

ОтветитьCaught Elvis at the Omni in June'76. The stairs were so steep in the arena, I almost got vertigo! And, no handrails! It's time had come. - JG
ОтветитьAlot of good memories there with the Atlanta Knights.
Ответитьyeah man. are you a Thrashers fan?
ОтветитьI was.
Ответитьcool, maybe you have seen the Facebook page i put up for the Thrashers since the old one was taken down?
Ответитьu got chicago stadium demolition
Ответитьive been looking for almost a year, still cant find anything
ОтветитьI went Atlanta last year and walk around the Phillip Arena where the Omni stood and what amazing building
ОтветитьThat building although im not from atlanta had a whole lot of wrestling history within its walls.Georgia championship wrestling was the shit and all i could do was watch it from t.v. and never could go see it live...I use2 always beg my dad to go when i was little and woundered why he wouldnt take me and as i got older i found out that the omni was in georgia and not in virginia!Damn those were the days!!
ОтветитьThey must have imploded it during a Thrashers game .... that would be a good time to have done it, since no one would've been in the building anyway.
ОтветитьRUSH: Test For Echo tour 12/11/96! First, last, and only memory of the Omni for me. What a great memory that was. Saw them again on the Vapor Trails tour 10/13/02, in the Philips Arena. It was indeed an improvement.
Ответитьi remember watchin wcw at the omni
ОтветитьStarting at 3:18 - Notice on the left side of the building how the barrier falls after the preliminary explosions? There was reports afterward that windows were blown out because of a malfunction, and I am guessing that could have been part of the problem since they left an area exposed to the crippling blast to take it down.
ОтветитьMy last memory of the awsome Omni was an Atlanta Knights game. It was just grand.
Ответитьspring 1990
ОтветитьReally is sad to watch, I myself had so many great memories of this place! Absolutely awesome concerts, Aerosmith, Boston, Paul McCartney and Wings, Rod Stewart plus all the sporting events and more. Awwww Omni you were a great one I'll think of you fondly!!
ОтветитьDon't miss the OMNI at all. Phillips is too awesome. But ironically the GA Dome days are numbered as well.
ОтветитьSure miss the Omni. I saw Kiss in 1979, Journey in 1981 and 1983. We were going to see The Police but my parents divorce kept me from that concert. I am glad there is a video of the show I missed. I also miss Fulton County Stadium. I guess you really never can go back.
ОтветитьThe Georgia dome is next
ОтветитьThe house that my boy my favorite basket ball player of all time Dominique Wilkins built!!!!
Ответитьnow the dome has died
ОтветитьI remember going to LL Cool J and Run DMC's concert at the Omni. 😪
ОтветитьOle Anderson
ОтветитьBefore CNN reported fake news
ОтветитьGo Atlanta! A history of erasing people's memories and having no respect for the past.
ОтветитьNot to mention wasted taxpayer money.
ОтветитьJim Cornette brought me here
ОтветитьThe home of the Bash, War games 1987!!
ОтветитьI just recently visited Atlanta for the first time. Where the State Farm Arena is located and CNN center is where the Omni used to be. That arena has so much history. WCW world championship wrestling is where they held there Historic events like Starrcade, Slamboree and the Great American Bash. I wished old Arenas from my Big Cities never should demolish them. They just retired these buildings and leave it a memory kind like Museums so people can visit and look inside to remember to go old days. Demolish them just erase the memories like these venues like they dont exist.
ОтветитьWhat a sad day that was
ОтветитьI CAN SEE THE Georgia Dome
ОтветитьCNN Center, right next door to the Omni, took on minor exterior damage from this
Ответитьgoodbye omni good arena
ОтветитьImploded Atlanta Fulton County Stadium one week later 8/2/1997
ОтветитьSo many great NWA and Georgia Championship Wrestling shows there! Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes
