Davinci IS INDUSTRY STANDARD DUH!~ Not Premiere or AVID Lol! Ask Marvel Studios for one! I went from years as and editor in Premiere and Final cut to Davinci for that reason! OMG~ Facts please! (I'm a professional Film editor of over 23 yrs ) with distribution in the industry. And this was posted just a year ago????

As a freelancer do you fill out a W2 from the companies that hire you or did you fill out a 1099?
Almost every production company I work with make me fill out a W2 unless I LLC. Did you LLC when you first started freelancing?

I never understood why Premiere Pro is so loved in the editing world. It's clunky and crashes and the interface is cluttered and complicated. Oh well, it's the standard like it or not.

I gotta say, i am constantly coming back to your videos to try to learn and grow more as an editor. I currently work full time for a none profit as a part of their video production team for the past 4 months; and though i love the stability and practice, I'm not really able to do much more work outside of that. How should I go about progressing my career and how long should I wait until I leave?

Please where can I see a course on Davinci resolve

This isn’t true about the premiere only thing. I’ve worked on multiple projects with big crews in fcpx when premiere was preferred. If they need the working files I’ll strip the timeline and send over xmls which typically they’re fine with (given they’re working on a new projects and just need the selects I’ve used)

And as more people start to switch to davinci, the easier it will be to import xmls from other softwares to convert.
