Power Wheels 12 Volt to 24 Volt Conversion

What Amp battery are you using and how long would the 18 volt last on a full charge?

If anyone is still answering questions I would really like to see how the wires are hooked to the motors as I am not the greatest at electrical

Did you have to weld anything together?

Rhino liner or herculiner spray on the tires will give it traction, you may need to reapply every other week but that's what I did with my son's jeep, it definitely moves on tarmac, it slips every now and then but it's better than just plastic

Update: Success!! This racer is super #$&! fast now! We purchased a new one so we were able to run the wiring a little smoother. But thanks for the video, would have been lost without the wiring instructions.

with all the money he spent on all that he could of just used the the regular powerwheels battery even though its stock the only thing that will be worth it is the speed

I saw a 24V car with max MPH at 10 whereas a 12V was only 4.5 MPH.

How long did the motor and board last?

I did this once. Since there was almost no weight in the front and everything was at the rear, the little Jeep did a wheelie and I fell right out.

I did the same with my son's power wheel. It went twice as fast. But after a month the plastic gears teeth broke. Too mush power for these power wheel to handle when the internal gears are all plastic. They should make it out of steel gears but no they too cheap. Also they won't sell the gears separately so you are force to buy the whole gear box to get the gears.

So everything is stock power wheels except for the extra battery hooked up in series?

How’s the length of the charge last after conversion?

I would add caulking to the tire treads for better traction on pavement. Maybe just in the rear...

Does this have an impact on the circuit or the motor? I am assuming your connecting 24v to 12v motor?

You only add one battery in parallel, what about the 12v motor, can it resist so much power i mean 24v, i think it can damage the 12v motor, any sugestion pls?

I'm quite happy with this thing without the upgrade. My biggest challenge is finding a spacious, safe and comfortable place to use it with the kids. I'm trying to avoid the beach because of sand issues. Anyone know if there are parks that allow these types of toys to be used?

You should add some wide tight rubber bands over the rear wheels to get traction on asphalt

How is that motor not burned up?

For better grip - You needed to take a bike tire and cut it down to size of the back wheels and screw the bike tire on to the wheels

My kid's car is 12V. Is it possible to replace that 12V car with a 24V battery? Since the motors in the 12V car are 12V motors and lighting systems, is it okay to install a 24V battery instead?

What is best way to revert back? I found a green buggie on my street no one wanted to trash for free pick up and they had it hot wired for 2 batteries. Trying to go slower for my daughter’s 1st hot wheel
