My sister is starting to get annoyed with how many streaming services you need subscriptions to just to be able to have access to every movie my niece likes.
Thankfully I was able to acquire most of the movies she likes on Blu-Ray secondhand (ie: $2 for Frozen), rip them, put 'em on a USB drive, and plug it into a Le Potato (about $30 not counting the case, power supply, and an 8GB MicroSD) with LibreElec flashed onto it, so it helped make the movie experience much easier for the youngin'
if yall don’t know redbox it was easy to say you sent your “disk “ back in by printing out the cd of the game/movie i’m ngl i have alot of games for cheap bc of them thank you red box ☠️🫶🏽
ОтветитьI kept a couple of those redbox cases. maybe they will be worth something in a couple years.
ОтветитьMaybe red box should have done just anime
ОтветитьStopped using Redbox years ago after I realized they were flooded with B content, and the discs were usually neutered "rental" discs that didn't include special features.
ОтветитьLayoffs pending in preparation to pay lawyers for encroaching and ongoing distrubution lawsuits, or so I've heard.
Just pay the damn people what they're owed, Redbox.
Before "The 2020" I dated a girl that couldn't go a weekend without a Redbox run. Just a constant stream of bad movies going in and out.
ОтветитьSupport physical media and leave all the woke streaming shows in the trash where they belong.
ОтветитьWe still have a Redbox at our local Walmart neighborhood store I remember hearing stories on how people would return fake DVDs or video games from a simple stickers
ОтветитьI beleive the National Lampoon's European Vacation joke was that the home movie was retitled "The Wh0r3 in the Shower," except spelled correctly.
ОтветитьVery surprised they lasted this long.
ОтветитьThey were at one point time doing digital rental, but somehow they didn't stick to it, eventually led to this! It's inevitable!
ОтветитьBlockbuster finally justice is served
ОтветитьI still feel they should have merged with FYE years ago. Used FYE for liquidation of their old media.
ОтветитьRedboxes are surrounded with homeless people, and addicts.
ОтветитьWhen all physical media goes to streaming, expect history to be wiped and forgotten by all DEI policies.
ОтветитьThis is more like "why rent a DVD when you can buy it at Walmart for only a few dollars more?"
ОтветитьI don't understand how brick and mortar Gamestops exist
ОтветитьBoooooo hooooooooo !!!!!!
ОтветитьThe issue I have is with Goverments pushing people to get jobs with unscrupulous Employers who leave you high and dry and don't even pay your wages or salary that you worked hard for.
ОтветитьI want to know what they are going to do with all that physical media. Can we buy some. I want some.
ОтветитьNothing's worth On Demand anymore.....😒
ОтветитьI was wonder why it hasn't work in walmart for last month
ОтветитьIt’s crazy how block buster got beat by red box and Netflix and now red box is getting left in the dust it’s gonna be the next block buster
ОтветитьWhy should this sound so surprising?…
ОтветитьJust realized I don't even have a way to play a DVD.
Ответитьblockbuster 2.0 HAHAHAHAHAH
ОтветитьChicken soup for the incel didn't move a lot of copies
ОтветитьHonestly can’t remember the last time I saw someone getting a movie from Redbox
ОтветитьChicken Soup for the Soul was never particularly Christian. It was always a bunch of pithy self help junk masquerading as Christian content.
ОтветитьRedbox was great when my kids were little and we could rent dvd’s for them to watch in the car during roadtrips. Return anywhere was a big plus.
ОтветитьThis sucks, I really liked Redbox, for my wife an I it was a great way to watch movies that looked kind of interesting but not interesting enough to go see in the theaters. And it used to be that new movies would hit Redbox before streaming so we'd look forward to these not good enough for theaters movies to hit Redbox. Streaming was the third tier, movies not even worth paying the small Redbox rental fee or forgot to rent but is now streaming.
ОтветитьIt’s like they’re trying to terminate all physical media.
ОтветитьMost likely the fall of Redbox is because of many reasons, the main reason being cost and value of media being produced of late. Folks are being hammered with various cost increases from food, energy and services. Leisure stuff has been on a downward trend since the early 90s. Broadband is a needed expense, streaming with ads is the way to go for most. Unfortunately, the studios largely can't survive with this low revenue source. 😮
ОтветитьWondered why the local Walmarts Redbox hadn’t been updated in awhile
ОтветитьRedbox sitll exist until now?!
ОтветитьI remember red box being out side gas stations, blockbuster, and even Hollywood video 😂😂
ОтветитьThere much free content on the net, even websites that stream movies. Who has time for Redbox? Evidently no one.
ОтветитьSad to see them gone, but Americans have become really lazy and don't want to leave their houses to even buy food anymore. I have fond memories of red box going every Friday night living in west Texas town with really bad internet service to stream anything. The town also had a blockbuster which closed its doors around mid 2014. Buy physical media.
ОтветитьPhysical media forever! Don’t give streaming services a single penny of your cash! 📀
ОтветитьMy job went chapter 11 December of last year. We were introduced to new owners two months ago. I hope things go well, with the new owners. No chapter 7.
ОтветитьA gentleman just posted a video how Redbox owes him a nice amount of money along with others he knew. A terrible situation hope their paid no doubt attorneys need to step in. No guarantee on anything in life!
ОтветитьEvery time I went to the Dollar General, I would see someone using Redbox.
ОтветитьWhen I started seeing Redbox movies for sale at Goodwill, I knew the writing was on the wall for the company.
ОтветитьOkay so I'm going to give you all some answers from an actual employee. Yes Ruhana did steal our money. They stole our 401k contributions, they did not pay payroll taxes, they stole our health care premiums out of our paycheck. They also stole our FSA or HSA contributions. They removed this money from our paychecks but did not put it where it was supposed to go so we lost our health insurance in the middle of May and we're not told about it until a month later. They had pulled this at the end of 2023 as well but we were led to believe it was a momentary issue and would be resolved. Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment was a subsidiary of Chicken Soup for the Soul. Ruhana is still the president and head of Chicken Soup for the Soul publications. Redbox was actually, out of all the businesses in CSSE, the one making revenue. Between the DVD rentals that we were still pulling in as well as our repair side which had multiple clients outside of Redbox, we were the only revenue generating business under CSSE. If anyone wants to investigate Rouhana on their own please go ahead and Google his name and look at his tenure with WinStar. It'll look very familiar. This is what this man and his wife do. There were actual plans to begin putting new content back into the kiosks with some funding he was supposed to get which of course probably was a lie. Our biggest problem was after he acquired us that we lost contracts because of lack of payment that he wasn't making so we lost movie contracts, we lost contracts with businesses like Walmart and CVS and Walgreens and others when he didn't pay them.
ОтветитьCompanies don’t intentionally buy other companies to run them into the ground, that’s just bad business practice. What companies will do is buy up other failing companies to buy up the assets and yes, use it for tax benefits.
But a company will never buy up another successful company to intentionally run it into the ground. A successful company is going to cost a lot to buy, and then using a large investment to get little returns makes zero sense.
I wonder how many of these companies are used by big corporations to: 1) control the market, 2) eliminate competition, and 3) get a quick payout?
Quite literally a scam
It's beautiful that my age (Gen X 48, hardheaded with tech) blocked me from jumping onto the streaming/digital bandwagon. Used DVD's /CD's for me! Honestly thought if the cloud goes bad no matter how much money you paid into you cant access your stuff was a automatic rip-off!
ОтветитьAre the employees suing?
