The 79 is the only one with a good gvm but its slow, fuel hungry ,uncomfortable overpriced for what you get so really should not have been included .

Where is the isuzu?

Can you guys do a video on reliability? based on market review and statements over the past 2 years for each brand? That would be a more testament to quality. We all know Toyota isn't what it use to be, but there are a-lot of issues with the Ford Ranger and BT50. Mercedes is not yet know as it didn't exist.

I don’t get why everybody ignores the 4.0 V6 petrol in the Hilux as a “performance” option, it’s more powerful than the V6 in the VW at 175kw compared to VW’s 165kw, the VW does have more torque though but that’s expected from a turbo diesel.
However a petrol V6 will always sound better and rev higher than a diesel, if you’re looking for a “sporty” engine I’d take the 4.0 from the Hilux, it’s also under stressed and it doesn’t have a turbo which means there’s less to go wrong and it’ll probably out last everything else with a turbo.

Why are the 4WD systems never discussed? Not once during the video are we notified of the different engaging 4x4 systems, does the Merc have a true low range gearbox or is it another VW style constant 4x4, honestly I'd take the V8 Cruiser over any other in the test. If I want a flash interior then I wouldn't buy a 4wbie.

I wouldn't purchase one of them as we have entered the lemon age - Electrical issues, dodgy injectors, excessive oil consumption, poor service and shitty dealerships put me way off.

Kia and Hyundai will soon join the dual cab ute market, they will most likely produce something decent, well priced, reliable and fully backed.

I'll stick to a Landcruiser.

Own a 2016 MY17 Ranger XLT Tech Pack (with Wildtrak rims and a real LED light conversion ofc!) test drove ALL utes for 6 months prior to purchase mine (but the V6 Amarok - as was not available at the time), Ranger by far outperformed every single ute in the market, in regards of ride comfort, standard equipment, airbags, connectivity, looks, I have 20,000km's NOT one single issue, as for the "ford is junk bla bla bla" haters, my co workers have had their navarra st-x in the dealer twice....the whole butt hurtness is a waste of time, face it there are no bad utes, all are good, just so happen the Ranger is better in anything else, I would def consider the Amarok V6 if had rear passenger airbargs, nice review fellas!

How does a 4.5 V8 diesel make such little power and torque?

I have a simple question why weren't all the utes the same spec model. You tested some pov packs, against mid to high spec variants. If it was all about the tradies tes all the equivalent model specs. Also the Mazda you tested was the out going model as it just had a minor fresh up with new grille apple/android for those that need it. Great article and test of what there is on the market but how about all of the makes like the Tata, Great Wall and LDV

All these trucks are expensive and if compare US trucks specs but Ranger is best👍

test drove them all, Bought a V6 Amarok, the ranger is cheap and nasty, all the electronic gizmos were annoying.

not sure what people mean when they say that the cruiser makes up for its price with grunt. new hilux has the same torque with half the cylinders. the new triton is only 20nm away from that. aa new navara which is smaller again makes the same amount. Then theres the colorado which makes 50nm more. dont even get me started on the v6 diesels. toyota is robbing everyone who has ever bought a cruiser ute. and one more question, why didnt you guys use the z71 instead of the sportscat?

The Ford is better for the bush or family cars not really for tradies, out of all these i don’t like any of em. I prefer the 2018 Hilux Workmate

My 2010 regular cab XL 4 cylinder automatic here is pushing a hundred eighty-five thousand miles on it and I know it's pushing it but the original hoses are on the truck and living in this climate yeah it's pushing it but I leave every morning and I don't even fear that one of those hoses breaking it's a work truck and it takes a beating

They are not cars or sports cars. They are trucks. A Commodore Ute is a car, sports car, and a truck. Which is a Ute. Maybe get your facts right before you put them on the internet. You will get called out for them, and it is embarrassing.

Just another dishonest review where clearly the judges get paid to say what they say. Go drive each one for a weekend like me and my mates all did. Funny how 6 of us all drove away with the Amarok
