So much peace and calm where you're at I watch your videos while studying. Down here in South East Texas the reality of fishing is having to deal with people yelling at you from the shore to stop fishing their property or blowing air horns to get you to go away from their dock. i recently double knotted a small rubber band on the back end of my frog right under the hooks so they stay exposed, works like magic

Bummed a bit, fished frog for a few hours today and had no hits let alone lands. At least I was outside and not doing something more austere.

When you bend your hooks, it makes them weak, you can go up one size and put those hooks in your frog 🤙

I know this video isn't recent, but to address the question you often get about "when to set the hook," I just tell people... "Don't pull until you feel weight on your line." That can happen quickly, or take a couple of seconds, but no matter the length of time, if you have weight on the end of your line, it's hook setting time! I use the same technique pulling spinner rigs for walleyes and my hook up ratio compared to the guys in my boat that release tension to feed the fish before hook setting is about 2 to 1. If you fish with quality gear (I use St. Croix Legend Elite Series rods), you can tell when a fish is holding or taking, and instead of creating slack for a massive hookset, I simply jerk backward when the feel is right. I'm no pro, but in my circles, I'm often targeted as the success measuring stick. I've had beers cracked in celebration because somebody finally hooked more fish than I did, or I wasn't able to steal away the big fish of the trip honors. But I'm nothing special, I just pay attention and practice the techniques demonstrated by successful anglers like you Matt. That's all. But it does show how much good info is out here on the internet and the difference being a student of the information can make. Thank you for making many of us better than we were!

I just watched your video of you fishing with a $2 Walmart frog with the same design as this target frog. Just goes to show that you don't need to spend a lot of money on baits to catch a lot of bass.

I fish with frogs too. I love that most are weedless. I fish my canoe in Lake Berryessa in the Napa Valley in Northern California. Nothing gets Me in the flow like floating around and casting to the shore. Thanks for the vids, and keep the lines tight.

Hey I just use 20 lb line with my 110 cnd rod and reel combo and iv only cut 1 line in the past few month. Been using leaders but getting the right size for what I need has proven troublesome

Crushed them, Brother! Awesome video!!! I also do the hook modifications, but I always take my new frogs from the package and boil them to soften them up. If you do boil them, DO NOT ever use the pot for cooking again!!! I have a pot and strainer dedicated for just that purpose! Keep up the good work!

Best way to work the frog? Can't really tell in the video. Are you doing a few jerks while reeling stop, and continue? No luck on my frogs yet

If anyone is using frogs, I recommend scum frogs, they already have razor sharp hooks, good durability, only $5 per frog, softer body for better hook up odds, a range of colors, and even sell micro baits for those small pond bass
