My guess was more of a reverse clamp. You’d feed the clamp in to the opening, then squeeze the handles to expand the “ring halves”. Then it has a ratcheting mechanism to keep it open while you slide it on. Then you unlock the clamp once in place.
Not sure how much time it would save, and is sure FAR more complex to print 🤷♂️
Great design. Simple, quick and functional as always ❤😀
ОтветитьWay cool. Thanks for sharing.. cya next friday
ОтветитьMaybe Insurance will cover the cost of the 3D printer. Or maybe not.
ОтветитьFirst thing that popped in my head was a "shoe horn" split ring type arm/tongue thing, to allow you to expand the hole..but your design was WAY more practical and easy to make, especially since it's a ring that can slide in and out of the neoprene gasket for the water proof sock. Very cool!
Keep em coming!!!!
My first thought was two half rings similar to What you made, but joined by a set of plier handles similar to retaining ring (snap ring) pliers that open when you squeeze them together. Way over engineered. However as is usually the case, simple is always better.
ОтветитьI was thinking something like this but a bit smaller, and attached to something similar to snap ring pliers, that open when squeezed.
ОтветитьI wish I could up vote your video more than once. I hope I never need to use something like this, but admire the simple solution to your problem!.
ОтветитьWishing you a swift recovery!
ОтветитьThanks for the shout out, I'm glad you didn't need a reprint this time. :)
My first thought was much more elaborate, along the lines of a 4 prong expander (cattle ranchers know what I mean.) Simpler is better.
A big advantage of this is that you can leave it in place and allow the bag to air out between showers.
Nicely done. Good luck on your recovery.
FYI, your link to the PLA is broken. Looks like an extraneous "s" slipped in.
Glad you're healing up. Neat project/idea.
ОтветитьLooks great
ОтветитьCool, maybe splitting in half with dovetails into two pieces to make it easier to put on and off. Make the dovetail just half the thickness of the wall so you can stop the dovetail to slip all the way through the wall.
ОтветитьDidn't have anything like that when I had my two shoulder surgeries, I used press and seal wrap. Swift healing
ОтветитьMy vote would be to Plasti-Dip your arm. I wouldn't do that, but others should.
ОтветитьHope it's a quick and painless recovery!
ОтветитьWhat if you just push the ring to the inside of the cover?
ОтветитьLooks like a patient pending to me. Go make some bank
ОтветитьWhen I was 15 I shattered my leg and was in a cast from my toes to my crotch for a year and a half. I had a waterproof bag with a wide rubber band that wrapped around it and latched to make it water tight. If 3d printing would have been a thing then I would have designed all kinds of scratching instruments.
I just made it to that part and I think i would make a ring with 4 prongs mounted to the wall that would hold it open while I stuck my arm through, so it would pop off and close when I got it all the way on. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
I came up with something similar when I broke my arm 20 years ago, my girlfriend at the time didn't like my name of CAST CONDOM.
Ответитьdamn this comes 3month late^^ i wish i had such an arm cover thing . i just used garbagebags and tape like ppl done for ever^^
ОтветитьGlad you’re on the mend! High five! Sorry I had to 😂
Get better soon!!
Great job. Hope your arm heals quickly. Ciao, Marco.
ОтветитьWhat a simple little thing to make life so much easier, thats what great design is all about. Must admit to just using cling film (Ceran wrap) when I broke my wrist.
