This song is disrespectful to our veterans who served without a choice and died for this great country. Meanwhile, these people are listening to this guy's music and taking drugs to protest the war. A lot of musicians sid live aid had a cause where Woodstock didn't. Actually Woodstock had a more constructive cause than live aid. What's ironic is that robert McNamara who was in the pentagon at the time of the viet Nam war admitted that. The viet Nam war was a result of the domino theory of communism. Where if one fell several other nations would follow. Thailand and several others. Would turn communist. Robert McNamara admitted the war went long after it was evident that would never happen and should have been stopped. The problem was essentially an incompetent president. L b j. I didn't want to be the first president to lose a war. He had been a vice president. Who was essentially chosen for his incompetence. Presidentsxwant a yes man. This was the start of band 3 on the eight track tape. It accurately reflected much of my attitude in 1970, post the Kent shootings, and facing being drafted straight out of high school for a war we never should have been in. I had friends leave high school and come back home in a box 6 months later, having never really lived.

I was a kid listening to this song I remember the American flags hung by front doors of houses as their sons were killed, its how you knew, the flag.... we also bought bracelets for the POW's and if yours got released or found you could mail your bracelet to them. Slava Ukraine, Fighting for your Freedom is the good Fight, Fighting to take it away from someone is a Crime on Humanity.

I can't help wondering how many of those kids ended up becoming hedge fund managers.

I was against the war, but I was drafted and did my duty. That came at a cost at the end and, while I wasn't called a baby killer or the like, I was looked down on by people such as in this video. It was not a pleasant time.
