For anyone wondering. Yes there is a lot of naïve misinformation in this video. I don't blame Ryan really but particularly about the ease of which you can live there. With some privilege's afforded to you it can be very doable but it is NOT easy, nor is it cheap. When you are on an American salary with the way inflation has been recently you might get the perspective but it's the opposite. I don't really know how he got the idea that English teaching is a sustainable or well paying job here cause it's not. You are replaceable as hell so you get treated like shit and the pay as an ALT (assistant language teacher) is abysmal. Less than minimum wage in the US. Living on a Japanese salary Tokyo is not affordable it's a challenge.
