What kind of transmission? M21 or M22?
ОтветитьTo this day I cannot believe that in high school I bought a 70 ( BLUE WITH WHITE STRIPES ) with a 350 and cross ram duel quads for a $1,000. Then turn around a sold it for the same amount and today I still cannot explain why I did.
Ответить'In the day', I owned several Ram Air III and IV's, a number of SD455's, a couple of 426 Hemi's, and one L88 Corvette...and what is really heart-breaking is that for the price of a car loan, you can go out and buy an 800-hp monster (Dart Demon, Challenger-Scat Pack, etc.) with NO IDEA how to treat them or drive them properly. Sure deflates the value of 'collector' cars, when you can simply find a totalled Demon or Challenger Scat Pack car, and swap the power train over to the 'old body'....cheaper than you can buy the old 'collector car' (that will get outran by the first kid with a Chevy Camaro SS LS/LT1....)
ОтветитьSo he said it was a 454 with 450 hp immediately followed by it being a 512. Does that mean it's a 454 bored out to 512 cubic inch?
Or is the 512 just the name of the engine used for the 427 and 454?
Gonna have to get after it harder than that to open hood flapper
ОтветитьI did also
ОтветитьFunny how this car can't compete with a 2008 base model Corvette with 436 hp 376CID at 3175 lb Convertible. The Chevelle is just too heavy. With long tube header and 3 inch pipe and race cats. 11.8 @ 121.32 MPH.
ОтветитьOne of John Wicks car?
ОтветитьNot much OE. Teach that guy how to drive a muscle car🤦🏻
ОтветитьHe said, “Nicely restored”. No, it’s beautifully restored! Wow!
Ответитьmy dream car was 70 ss in the 80s I end up with a Malibu 70 307 but is cool sold it in 1994 I wish if I keep it
ОтветитьLove hearing that Muncie whine. It takes me back.
ОтветитьGreat collectible car but with around a 12.5:1 compression ratio I wouldn't want it... I'd want something I could regularly that doesn't need 100 octane fuel.
ОтветитьHow much 70 t
ОтветитьSounds kinda lazy... Aren't these things supposed to have like +700bhp?
ОтветитьLord have mercy! ❤ My dream car and always will be! ❤ That and a 69/70 Charger. But this... Aw man lol nothing beats a SS! Such a beauty! Used to drive our 18 wheeler with the now ex but I'd be a little nervous now to drive a stick... I'd do it with this baby tho! 🥰
ОтветитьWrong intake manifold. The LS 6 came with a low rise aluminum intake as it was slated to go into the Corvette but that did not happen. I know this as I owned one that I purchased in 1972 and have the build sheet from this car today. Mine was also red with a red interior and was built at the Lakewood, Atlanta plant and shipped to a dealer in Jacksonville, Fla. where I lived at the time. I paid $2400 for it.
ОтветитьI worked for a guy in the mid 80’s who had 2 ls6 chevelles, a hard top and convertible, and 2 396 chevelles, again a hard top and convertible. All 1970, all red and black, both ls6 were 4 speed, both 396 were auto (so his wife could drive them). I lost touch with him and often wonder if he still has them.
ОтветитьYour to far from the steering wheel
ОтветитьI can smell the interior.
Ответить... Chevelle the destroyer, very beautyful and cool 👍👌🇺🇲🎸
ОтветитьWhat’s funny there is more ls6 cars now than ever made
Ответитьare you selling or buying
ОтветитьBest muscle car made👍👍
ОтветитьDude with the pins seriously. Come on man show some respect
ОтветитьThis magnificent machine was in my collection. I bought it from Jack and asked him to find its next home.
Jack is a solid & trustworthy guy.
I’ll be back to purchase another classic.
You did it wrong. When you test drive an LS6 454 there is supposed to be tires screeching, the engine revving, gear banging, sideways sliding, and power shifting.
Otherwise one might assume the car is defective. You might as well have your mother drive. Please try again.
I understand his being careful while driving this valuable car, but he might as well have been driving Miss Daisy!
Come on - that's a musclecar! Let's see a bit of the muscle!
Gorgeous muscle car, but, C'mon man, @ least a hole Shot, gun it while driving... & STOP RIDING THE CLUTCH. I can see it's NOT Ur car.
ОтветитьThat's one beautiful car. I had one but it was 396 and I had another was a 350. But that 454 is a mean machine.
ОтветитьRestored correctly went out the window as soon as he said 15” wheels.
ОтветитьRestored correctly went out the window as soon as he said 15” wheels.
ОтветитьAmerican Muscle at its finest 💪
ОтветитьCan't imagine why anyone would disengage the clutch rather than use engine braking to slow the car..Where did you learn how to drive a stick shift?
ОтветитьGrowing up back in the 1980's , everyone claimed that their Chevelle was a LS6.
ОтветитьThis is my favorite car besides the 67 Chevelle
ОтветитьBOUGHT AN LS6 IN 1976 FOR 2000. THAT WAS A LOT THEN. FOREST GREEN WHITE STRIPES AND INTERIOR. 4SPD. CAR HAD AROUND 60,000 MILES AND RUST AROUND REAR WHEEL WELLS FROM THE DETROIT WINTERS. DROVE IT YEAR AROUND FOR YEARS. SOLD IT IN 1995 FOR $15000. MISS IT.
ОтветитьOne of the most beautiful muscle car there is💙
ОтветитьLISTEN TO THAT M22 MUNCIE ROCK CRUSHER!
ОтветитьThat was my dream car in high school back in the 70s.
Ответитьu do understand that GM make 2 different 454 one is the ho 454 450 hp at 485 torque and the LS 6 454 small block both came out in 1970 only the ls was aluminum block 6 bolt main at 485 hp with 525 torque they built 212 with the ls 6 and only 6 with the ls 7 427 . if u don't believe me then read up on the mark 4 series it tells about them changing the angle of the pistons that means a new block. then u have to ask would GM call 2 different engines the same thing i think not this is y a ls 6 454 no matter what year it is it will be a 454 small block . i use to drag race a ls 6 454 in 1975 and it was a small block but back then u could only get it as a crate engine same with all the ls engines and they were not cheap at all very very expensive to buy one all most as much as a 3 bedroom house. u could order it as a iron block or aluminum block. just like a lsx is a 454 with a 427 crank both are small blocks. if u had a real 1970 ss LS 6 454 it would say cowl induction LS on the hood but if u look on the net un can fine a lot of them with the bbc in it because they built over 5000 cars with the bbc 454 in it so what would make that the holly grail car but if they only built 212 that would make it the holly grail car and the 6 with the LS 427 it is sitting in a virement control shop same with the ls 6 454 cars they are suppose to be under 150 ls 6 cars left in the world but still have all 6 of the 427 left most have under 300 miles on them never been restored still look new in the shop. i have a 67 ss rs 427 yenko camaro and they built 256 of them but yet they claim the 70 ss ls 6 was more rare then my car. u can not go by the code because it was the same car GM. racing division took the bbc 454 out of the to put in the 454 small block they only changed the hood emblems and engine it still had the crate engine code but both in 1970 were crate engines. then in 71 u could get the bbc 454 with 450 hp in cars but not the ls engine like camaro , nova, chevelle , vett
ОтветитьI own 3 Chevelle,s plus bunch of other cars ss/rs Camaro,s GTO ,s and other crazy cars. But I have to tell this Chevelle is awesome beautiful car
ОтветитьI had an original 70 ss454,4 speed, and was red with white stripes and white interior, got it in Seattle in 1988 with 40k miles, drove to northcarolina for USCG a-school and back to alaska, traded for a 70cuda 340 and cash and drove that to NC when I got stationed there.,mostly had GTOs and novas before 1980s,they were cheap back in the day.
ОтветитьI was so fortunate. I had a detale shop in the early 70s. I drove most of the super cars back then. Even kept one for the weekend. Every weekend. Lol 😎
ОтветитьNice video ! I once had a 72 SS454... really nice cars...
ОтветитьThe LS6 big blocks makes a great boat anchor, except it is too heavy! What a gas guzzling low power, low revving pile of waste. Most overrated GM engine ever. 1967 was the last year they made a fast and lighter intermediate Chevelle. The LS6 would make a great truck engine.
ОтветитьSqueeky clutch pedal. That would drive me crazy hearing it everytime the clutch was used. Rather have the automatic.
ОтветитьNICE. I had My 1970 Chevelle. in 1979-1982.Complete Resto. 396 SS Clone. Red with White Stripes.
ОтветитьNice damn work.. she looks so nice . Thanks for saving one.. my absolute favorite car...
ОтветитьBack in 1980 my garage mate had a survivor 1970 Chevelle 454 LS6 SS M22 four speed with 4.10's he widened the SS rims 2" had some sticky Pro tracks we would be out every weekend kicking ass. To be young again.
