You held it wrong. To hold it in portable mode, you hold the ends of the legs against the sides of the controller handles.
Also Virtual Boy Wario Land is great, and Red Alarm was always my favorite, even if the wire-frame graphics made it kind of hard to see sometimes.
For the past couple of years I occasionally watched the Virtual Boy video's of Metal Jesus Rocks, The Retro Future and this one and tonight was the night that I finally done it. I bought a boxed Japanese Virtual Boy...I'm so excited
ОтветитьYou can manipulate the 3d and go from 2D-3D by turning the knobs on the top
ОтветитьI know it’s probs a no but would u be willing to sell
Ответитьluke VB being broken is... Hilarious
ОтветитьMr. Whostheboss brought me here
ОтветитьHow did you get you Virtual boy in a blue cable??
ОтветитьThe PlayStation DualShock did have a grandfather with no analog sticks. DualShock was released in 97.
Ответитьoh man, i grew up with one of these bad boys, probably why my eyesight is so bad now because i was pretty obsessed. Red Alarm was one of my favorite games growing up
ОтветитьVirtual boy uses to a little screens with a red and black pallet
ОтветитьLuke’s virtual boy has one of the video reflectors broken
Ответитьback n the day, i had gold on all characters in mario tennis on N64.
ОтветитьIt's not hurting your eyes only, it hurts your back and neck too. But it's worth killing your time since you don't have your psvr 2
Ответитьi think its a huge missed opportunity that nintendo never released a virtual boy collection for the 3ds
Ответитьill agree that some of the most fun gaming ive had is where literally nobody playing knows what they are doing. its sets up a competition of who can better adapt and learn faster.
ОтветитьLooks like a regular Super Nintendo. Just in red.
ОтветитьHEY STOP PRETENDING THE VURTUAL BOY DOES NOT MAKE YOU BLIND YOURE JUST SAYING THAT NINTENDO CAN BE SUED ITS NOT WORKING AND I WILL NOT ALOW ANY DISSRESPECT TO NINTENDO EVER AT LEAST THEY TRIED TO MAKE GREAT GAMES FOR YOU
ОтветитьIt's kind of sad to think about the fact that Nintendo intentionally crippled Mario's Tennis by deciding not to sell the link cable, which honestly tells me the system was launched just to fail...
ОтветитьI always found the name virtual boy to be a little bit pedo sounding 😂
ОтветитьSomebody make an VB emulator that works with the nReal air glasses.
ОтветитьI had one as a kid. had like 6 games
ОтветитьAlso, forgot to mention how horrible the red and black graphics looked
ОтветитьThems earings are gaaaayyy
ОтветитьI remember playing the Virtual Boy (Mario Tennis) at Blockbuster at age 11, back in 1995-96, it was cool & awful looking the same time. Even though it definitely felt 3D, it was such an eye strain to look at. I’m honestly surprised that Nintendo didn’t try go with a different color, other than red over the black screen (not that it would have been a ton better). I’m glad I wasn’t the only kid or human that couldn’t handle the awfulness of the visual field. It was fun enough to play, but I still preferred the SNES.
ОтветитьHad this, can’t remember what year it was… Man, what a waste of money, and my eyes used to kill after playing three sets! Never saved correctly.
ОтветитьI wish I can have one virtual boi
ОтветитьDamn. I remember being excited for the Virtual Boy back when it first came out. I was 9 years old. I remember they were renting it out at Blockbuster. My mom was going to let me rent it by lending Blockbuster 50 bucks. Unfortunately we needed a debit card and at the time my family didn’t have any.
ОтветитьWhen I saw the Oculus/Meta Quest 2 I couldn't help but remember the Virtual Boy and telling myself "The Quest 2 is everything the Virtual Boy was supposed to be!"
ОтветитьYou have to play teleroboxing and re-explore this device in 2022. By the way, I want to tell your future self, that your channel and yourself have handsomed very well 😁
ОтветитьShut the fuck up Linus, why the hell do you stream so fucking loud in a video. Be professional god damn. I watch your videos but this is too much.
ОтветитьWhy ridge
Ответитьdude talk to much
ОтветитьI had one back in the day.. my favorite game was some flying game its why I always fly inverted control's and its probably why I need glasses.. 👓
Ответитьcomplain complain complain
Ответитьstupid millenials have no idea
Ответитьarro0gant commentators
ОтветитьNah this wasn't even NINTENDO'S first stereoscopic 3D system. Famicom 3D system / NES games with anaglyph
ОтветитьIt was ahead of its time. They had an idea and forced it through when the tech wasnt ready and on top of that made a bad decision with the design requiring a headset that nobody else can see playing so eliminated that aspect of seeing other people play that even for a portable device is still important in generating sales and interest.
ОтветитьDid games used to be harder or have controllers gotten better?
ОтветитьThey tried something new but didn't go all the way with it. If they had been more patient and released it a few years later with a headstrap, more game support, and a few more colors it could have been revolutionary.
Ответитьthere is a good emulator for the meta quest 2, if anyone wants to play the games
ОтветитьBlast from the past. I had one of these. Just watching this video I can smell the neoprene from the headset. 😂
ОтветитьGot the chance to play with one back at GamesCom in Cologne many years ago. Wario was actually really good, 3D Tetris was a nightmare and my head hurt after maybe ten minutes. The fact that Nintendo was willing to mass produce this turd just to hold gamers over until the N64 arrived is insane. This makes the Wii U look a commercial success by comparison.
ОтветитьOMFG LUKE HAHAHAHA
ОтветитьThis thing looks like it was designed by me, built by me
ОтветитьWhen Linus has dropped more things then vboys made...
ОтветитьOne of my old school teachers worked on this at Nintendo and loved telling us all about it
ОтветитьI’m like 75-78% certain that because my next door neighbour had one of these f**king things when I was growing up living in Burlington Ont. until I was 9, that it’s the reason him and I have such completely mangled eyes now in our mid-30’s, and both have to wear incredibly strong prescription glasses today haha 😂🤦🏻♂️🤓
ОтветитьI saw a cool video once of somebody turning one of these into a handheld
Ответить
