My GPU crashed a couple of times while trying to find the sweet spot. Should I be worried?

Using an MSI card with that version of MSI afterburner I dont have the option to add 10% power, can this be forced? New to Nvidia ecosystem but this video varified some of my conclusions really appreciate it.....I wish I knew how to get my 9800X3D to run that MHZ with my Gigabyte X870e....I also wish I knew what that overlay is.....the new 572.83 drivers/app seem to pick up fps and run even smoother in my games. I wish you had left monsters give the score so I could compare how well my system is running ( its all new ).

Good guide and benchmarks! Undervolting is for sure the way to go. When I finalize my main build with my 5090, I will definitely undervolt the 5090 for sure. It just makes sense. Good video as always! Keep it up!

It's cool to see OCs like the Lies of P showing massive gains. If there is anything impressive about this generation is the memory/OC ability of the hardware. Thanks again for this really good showing and side by side performance.

4090/5090/4080/5080, all benefit greatly from undervolting vs stock.
For my 4090 i drop about 120-130W

I am a bit confused. So oc gives 5% more performance by 50w more power consumption compared to undervolt. So if i choose between 5% perf vs 50w, I will choose 5% gain. I play game like 2 hours a day max, it is like 3000w monthly max, which is $0.45 (.15 per kw). Temp is slightly higher but not low enough not to turn ac anyhow. Am i missing anything?

Seeing how little power it uses with the UV Im asking myself if I could just run it with a 600w PSU that I have. I already bought a 1000w but I could just sell it as new. Im also using a 5800x3d.

Great video! I can hardly hear my 5070 ti now and still get great framerates. This is definitely the way to go. It seems like this is the way these cards should be shipped to actually be energy efficient.

Great video, however it would be really cool if you could dive into why most of your tested games only pulled ~220W from your stock 300W card. Are the other games badly optimized since that occurs even though the usage was 99-100%? Is the case the same with AMD cards in these games?😊

You're not just undervolting. You're overclocking as well.
Stock is just fine for most the cards out there. This is just content farming at this point.

Undervolting has been the best thing for GPUs for a long time. Providing lower temps with higher boost clocks, lower noise, and lower power consumption is a win-win every single time.

I try your MSI settings 900mV - 2920mhz - memory clock 2000mhz and it was fantastic, dergee for about 5-6oC
Before that, i play Final Fantasy 16 at 4K Dlss performance + frame gen x4 and the gpu got heat quite a lot more than 70oC but now after that it stable at 63-65oC while having more fps.

Will a crash result in a blue screen that causes an inability to get back into windows?

Since we are clicking apply to a potential unstable setting, won't the pc just keep that setting and keep crashing in a loop?

Palit 5070 Ti GamingPro OC V1, runs all tests (Furmark, Heaven, Superposition) +450Mhz core and +3000MT/s (+375Mhz) memory, but heavy games can crash. Thus, after playing several hours in games like Stalker 2 Epic settings and Cyberpunk @3440x1440 with Max with Path Tracing, I ended up with final settings:

Core: +418Mhz (2900Mhz in GPU-Z, hitting max 3.35Ghz, stable/holding during gaming @~3.28-3.30)
Memory: +3000MT/s (2,125 MHz or 34 Gbps)
Power Limit: 100% (300W)
Max Voltage: 1.070V
Temp after 30 minutes gaming: 66-70C

Was thinking of flashing with Power Limit +116% (350W), but don't see a reason for extra 1-2% performance gain and increase in temp. All in all this is giving me true 8-10% performance gain vs stock and I am comfortable satisfied with OC. Not planning to do UV as this card is cold enough and 300W only.

Power draw on Riva tuner overlay for stock and overclock doesn't make any sense. The GPU has a max draw of 300 watts. You're not stressing it on either of those profiles. Was DLSS enabled or something?

The 10 game average chart has a typo, its NOT 4K results, the games were tested at 1440P

IMPORTANT TIP!: When you're undervolting/Overclocking, make to uncheck the "apply overclocking at system startup" option in msi afterburner. Incase the overclock or undervolt you apply is too unstable and hard locks you're system then you can get back in with a restart. Otherwise when you get back into the OS, it will try to apply the overclock and your system will freeze again. Learned this the hard way. If you do encounter this, just boot into safe mode, go to the msi install folder, and delete the contents within the "profile" folder.
