I learned that Agendio makes customizable planners!
Anyway I need a 2021 planners and I hesitate between a Undated or Dated planner. I do need to plan some stuff in advance (for example I have a meeting by Zoom then setup the meeting for next week I guess in a monthly planner and tasks to do by then (then weekly? or I'm thinking a Master Task List). I don't want to spend a lot (like $20-$30 CAD max). I do have school project that I have difficulty to break down in small tasks (ultimately I might have to schedule, for example, one hour per day of research to find sources for a research paper?), and at the same time I'm finishing school in April and I don't know what I'll need after that (probably just personal task lists and a monthly calendar then at work the digital system they'll have I guess) anyway, long comment, but yeah... haha Thanks!

This video was so helpful. I’m retired and have had a hard time transitioning from my Franklin Planner (and similar) to a more simple system. I have wasted so much money!! I’ve now bought a monthly “pretty” desk planner. And I use a disc system for money, brain dumps etc. My iPhone is my go to on appointments and important reminders. I’m still struggling with a running to do list but am currently using an index card for TODAY that I keep with me. It has errands etc included. For groceries I have a whiteboard on the front of the fridge and I take a photo of it when I go out or want to order groceries. I still love planners and am a sucker for a “new system”. One more thing. I’m carrying a smaller purse and have stairs so the phone and an index card is good for me!! Again I love your channel. You make sense!

With a Happy Planner, do you have to buy a totally new planner every year, or is there a way to get just the pages and switch them out? Thank you!

I have multiple size planners I already know that I like the happy planner like the accessories and not really the planner itself I like the discs so buying happy planners I should probably stop buying them and I love a5 but I have 6 rings and 7 rings and punch for the 7 rings but 6 rings are more pretty looking so I'm having trouble deciding which one to use

I’m looking for a planner to help me keep track of my daily to dos where I can see what I need planned out for the week and month. I’d like it to be a little customizable I don’t need to be able to rearrange pages I don’t like writing against coils if I don’t have to and I have a substantial sticker and pen/marker supply so I don’t need to stock up on that. I live in Canada so getting something from the states is not to much of an issue for me. If you could help me out. I’ve already tried the happy planner and bullet journaling. With the happy planner there wasn’t enough space for me to write out all I had to do for that day in the weekly spread and it was annoying taking out the pages so that I wouldn’t hit the coils/discs and with bullet journaling it was too time consuming. Also I only want to have one planner. I’m a college student and I already have enough things to carry around as it is. So if y’all could suggest something that would be greatly appreciated.

OMG, I had a real light bulb moment listening to this video, because I have a stack of Happy Planners that I am trying to sell because I thought I could "make" them work for me. I will definitely be checking out your Etsy shop because the HB90 sounds like what I have been looking for because I have the same issue of scheduling to do's at the beginning of the week that don't get done when they were initially scheduled. Thanks so much!!!

I took your questionnaire while watching this video. And my answers told me that I was in wrong planner (I'm currently using a bullet journal and have known for a long time now that it wasn't the right planner system for me) and that I should be in something like a Happy Planner (which is what I already planned to use for 2020). I'm glad that my answers solidified my thoughts.
Thanks for a great questionnaire and a great planner series.

Thank you for this video! I do know that I would like a 6 ring system. I just don't know what size. I'm torn between A6 and personal. I think the A5 is too big for me to carry. I don't have any experience with personal or A6, I just know they're smaller. What advice could you give on the 2 sizes please?

I everyone ! I live in UK and I would really lover to find or get the happy planner craft planner that came out some time ago! I would really like a copy of this planner and accessories to track my craft projects for 2020. If anyone has a unused or part used copy I be interested and would possible pay shipping fees for over seas (depending price). I know it will need to be redacted no problems. Thank you all you planner babes out there, Jane. ..

Thank you so much for this, it helped me pit things in perspective. --- somewhat. I'm currently experiencing planner "distress." I have used the bullet journal method over past 2 years but dont have the time to draw out my spreads. I also have a day designer coiled monthly/daily vertical hourly for work. But I would love to have just one planner for me, including my work and personal life (appointments, my sons school and health appointments, and personal events and plans as well as my health wellness trackers) its overwhelming and with my back health issues I can not carry an A5 although it would house a perfect system as a ring planner). So I settled on a personal ring planner and now I'm stuck because having to search, buy, download, print cut and punch my inserts is proving to be worse than drawing out my bujo spreads. Bottom line is I just dont have time for all this but dont want to rely on my google calendar on my phone which turns out is my default personal planner. HELP!!

I have been going through planner-itis since...well, before you were born. grins Or at least since the early 80s. I've tried and tried to make the A5 print-your-own system work for me for my writing, but finally have to accept that the print is just TOO SMALL for my eyes.

I FINALLY just found a Franklin Covey binder that looks like the A5 binders (which I love), with a snap closure, in letter-size. Was pricey but I think it will be worth it, because I really got tired of using a 3-ring binder (like for school). So I'm waiting on that.

I also know I need an hourly one for daily use/household stuff because I don't do well if I have to write the time down somewhere on the page. I like Tools4Wisdom planners for that. And then I need a daily to-do list.

I love HPs but hate the discs. I love Erin Condren but don't like the fact that I can't add pages. I have no time for Bullet Journals as a planner system (love them for notes).

If I could have a spiral bound system where I could add and subtract pages and it was letter size? I'd be thrilled.

I will finish my planner that I bought because it has a ring binding (but as its not the original is so hard to move the pages) and I find that it's mostly empty I need the monthly pages not weekly or daily pages. I will start making to do lists as I believe it will make me get things done and that way my brain don't get a short circuit by trying to remember everything that needs to be done but I will keep in mind what you are sharing for a planner for 2021 (where I will probably need a system to plan my vacation for that summer). Thanks for all the info ♡♡♡

Great video! One of the things I'm struggling to find are daily pages with quarter-hour increments. Yes, I need to plan on that level! I'm guessing I'll need to create my own, but if anyone knows of daily inserts or a daily planner with 15-minute increments, let me know!

I got a secondhand Kikki K binder, grabbed the inserts for $13 and used my pens from my last year attempt at bullet journaling. I made and printed some inserts for the other sections in my life (health, study, goals, to do lists) and have different sections to segment out. I love a horizontal layout, it's familiar. Has enough structure to work and enough blank space to make it flexible. Some days it's two rows of tasks that need to be done on that day, some days it's just an appointment and one or two tasks. During really busy times (like exams) I have some schedule pages to block out my time hourly.

Took the plunge and signed up for the boot camp. I need to establish a goal based system. I think that will work better for me. I've been signed up for the news letter for awhile now but didn't get a link for the HB library, so I sent an email 😃

I would love to do your HB90 Bootcamp, it would be a great way to start the year. I'm not sure I can this time but we will see. I have used your HB90 planner before and love the set up, unfortunately it costs too much with having to print it then bind it all as well.

Thanks for this video and great advice. It was really helpful! Do you think it is ok not to be a planner? I am thinking daily planners, weekly planners, scheduling, and task batching/calendar blocking(set days and times for tasks) is not for me. I have been trying this but felt better before when I would just do the task. I might try just monthly and/or weekly goal lists.Seeing everyone use planners and journals made me think planning would help with productivity but maybe some people are just not planners (i.e. there are planners, list people, and go with the flow) .

Love this since I'm still trying to figure out what works for me. So far, I have two planners. One's a bullet journal that I use for homeschooling my kids since I had very specific needs there. The other is a Carpe Diem A5 planner that I got during the sale you mentioned (thanks!). I'm using the HB90 with it and still trying to figure things out. Love them, but I'm thinking about filling it with some grid paper as well as those so that I can include some trackers and other layouts for other parts of my life.

Thank you so much for creating this video. Your planner needs are very similar to mine and I have been planner confused for so long... It was only until I tried the bullet journal method that I found something that I could stick with, but, to your point, creating all the spreads is so time consuming and I hate having to recreate spreads when I need to go to a new bujo. With your video, I now know I need three things from my planner: Monthly Tracking, Weekly Planning, and Daily Accountability. BUT, those three things must still allow for creativity and be compact enough for me to carry around literally all the time. It's been years since I've been in a ring bound planner, but I think it may be time to go back and try with my new bullet journal mentality... THANK YOU!!!
