Ответитьi hate the pomodoro technique personally. it is just enough time to really get me fokused and then it says i should take a break when my focus is top. also the five minutes don’t really do anything to me. it is not enough time to actually take a break for me. i much rather go for 3 hours and then do one hour break. or if it’s les work i might actually be done.
also the changing topics can be really good to not feel burnt out that fast from one topic but i feel like 20 min is easy too little. i learned that the brain needs quite a few minutes to change the focus from one thing to the other so that i would also do in make two hour intervals.
i’m in year 11 now and it’s so weird for me to say 💔💔💔
ОтветитьFor me making notes is the most important in order for me to do the S tier.
ОтветитьTHANK YOU 😭
ОтветитьSuper like.
ОтветитьBlurting isn’t even studying that’s just revising how tf are you supposed to actually remember the stuff you read
Ответитьthank you so much jade 🤗
Ответитьlearning in our country is difficult even if ,using all of ur techniques
Ответитьfor watching videos I disagree, you can always combine this hack with blurting and taking notes it has worked for me. thank you the video too it was very helpful
ОтветитьThanks Jade:
This is the first video that I watched on this channel and I loved it.
Also I'm a Spanish girl who is learning English so if you wanna practice just text me ;D
When I watch video for a subject it's not for learning it's for understanding the subject better to actually learning and for the highlighting technique it's just for me to make the lesson less boring by adding colors and highlighting the stuff I need to know so it kinda goes with the study technique but it's not some study technique
ОтветитьI never knew there was a name for it or that it was even a codified study technique but I’ve been using blurting since mid-college and it’s insanely helpful. I’ll do it on Microsoft word and then go back through looking at my notes and add in what I missed with track changes, that way I can easily see what info I didn’t get and what I need to focus on. I love this technique! Thanks for giving me its name!
ОтветитьNOT THE WASTING MY TIME GETTING ME GOOD GRADES 😭😭😭😭
ОтветитьYou nose is perfect 😍
ОтветитьThere's one undefeated trick for studying: when the professor says do the exercises, you do them. Not that I did many of them of course
ОтветитьI just wanna know, does anybody else study with hyper/very vibrant music? Like, I listen to regueton, k-rock and sometimes pop too. Lo-fi beats genuinely make me feel sleepy, so it's a no from me. Does it make sense, or am I just setting myself up for failure if I continue studying like that? :')
ОтветитьYoooo, im going to study CogSci at UC Berkeley in the fall :). Such an unrated major
ОтветитьI don’t feel you have a good grasp of practical applications of these techniques. Teaching or verbalising what you thinking you know will expose any weak points, questions will see if your on solid ground. Notes is absolutely essential specially in your own words, this is a combination of multiple senses and very effective to tell your brain what you are writing is important.
Learning is really just thinking hard about what I want to learn, apply it and ask questions and find awnsers to the questions. Route memorisation is bottom tier and it’s more about thinking of the concept and applying them, memorisation should be a side effect from exposure
Pomodoro is a male word…just saying…
Ответитьhow is self-explanation rated significantly lower than blurting? they sound basically the same to me. am i missing sth?
ОтветитьIn my opinion, past papers have to be THE BEST study technique there ever has been, I do like blurting but there is no way that blurting beats past papers, NOTHING beats past papers.
ОтветитьThis has to be the ultimate procrastination video
Ответитьhighlighting depends on how you use them. highlighting just for the "aesthetics" wouldn't help, however highlighting stuff that are important helps when reading as your eyes immediately go towards the words written inside of it plus it helps people who have a picture memory, those who remember the page and how it looks like to go through it during an exam and remember its content (i personally do that and it helps me get A's). if you don't want to use highlights try using 2-3 different colors of pens chose one primary color for writing normal notes and use the second one on important stuff like names, explanations and rules (if youre studying stuff like physics and so on), if you use 3 colors then use 1- primary 2-important words 3-explanations or compare it to something around you.
ОтветитьI’m twelve and I’m going to one of the best school in my region, this would help me a lot
ОтветитьHonestly, learning from book, yt and listening to music are the #1 for me
I often get distracted from the music but atleast I'm having fun and it's just better lmao
through most of school, ive mainly just been blurting (ive always done it didnt know it was a study technique lol) and re reading from textbook and then applying the knowledge with past paper questions, re reading aint bad if you apply yourself correctly in the entire study process in my opinion
ОтветитьI'm watching this as my exams start tomorrow-
I'll be using this as reference in the next school year I guess 😅
Highlighting a good if u do it correctly 👍
Ответитьi listening to brown noise while doing science. and maths but with english i listen to worded music for some reason😭
Ответить☝🤓
ОтветитьMemory palace: S++
Ответитьwhat's the difference between spaced repetition and re-reading?
ОтветитьI think it might be a little late for spaced repetition for me... finals in like 2 weeks
ОтветитьI ain’t no queen but this video really helped - thanks
ОтветитьAs a A star student I think this is completely wrong past papers as re reading textbook Gould be on the top
ОтветитьWtf she put past papers in A star and blurting as magic bruh past papers should be higher
ОтветитьAll the english students defending highlighting with there lives. Fr though how would a maths student use highlighting affectively 😭,
ОтветитьGurl destroyed my entire high school life 💀
ОтветитьI think rereading has some value, but mostly if you use it to find out what you've forgotten or to answer a specific question you have in mind.
ОтветитьNotes are my best study method, because it helps me recall the fact that I wrote a definition or a certain word down, also my English isn't very strong so when a teacher uses a word, I know I'll not remember it when revisiting it so I write it in my own words, so yeah for me notes have helped me get through stuff
ОтветитьOmg you're the girl from tiktok that's living in Buenos Aires! (my city) your video was really helpful, thanks :)
ОтветитьThank you so much this video is so helpful
Ответитьcan you please make a video on how to make effective notes? i have a bad habit of basically copying w/e i see in the power-points my prof puts up/my textbooks & i really want to learn how to take proper notes so i won’t waste so much of my time anymore.
ОтветитьI think a lot of these don't necessarily work for STEM courses where practice problems are really the key, I can understand these more for knowledge based courses, but I think some of these may be biased towards pure memory based classes
ОтветитьIn my opinion, both noting and highlights are really essential and associated. Additionally, noting has many advantages. You paraphrase what the instructor has said which I surely admit that you can remember more. Moreover, noting can reminds some forgotten factors. You can just take a look at your notes when you forget something as well as watching videos.
Ответитьthank you that really helped
ОтветитьHow can I make flash cards without making notes. Because I am VERY passive when making notes and it is not good. But I kind of change the text to something I understand. So I don’t know how I’m supposed to make notes without copying everything down and how to make something active like flash cards without doing this passive thing. Could you possibly help me out. Btw I’m almost sixteen and everything that people around me say doesn’t matter always comes up on the test so I feel like I’m stuck. But thank you so much for motivating me Jade. I really want to give up on everything right now but your videos and kind words help me so thank you!
