This theme was for the bosses with a slightly more serious undertone. There tends to be something more critical on the line, like someone's well-being or even their life.

Is it ok to say this a vastly big improvement from decisive battle 1

This is one of the greatest boss themes ever created. It may have played a lot during the later chapters, but it fits every boss fight perfectly.

Octopath themes are criminally unrecognized

Of all the bosses to have this theme, Father sticks with me the most.

Between his insta-kill gimmick and his increasingly unhinged voice acting as the fight goes on, this theme makes an already intense encounter even more so.

Why in gods green earth does my brain associate this song with THURSTON of all bosses?...

Looking back at this video again make me wish that they dont actually went too heavy with the lighting because it make the color of the sprites a bit too blue-ish

I find Decisive and Critical 1 (especially Critical Clash 1) to be quite under-rated. Even whenever official arrangements come out, none of the first variants of boss battles ever get remixed. And people only ever talk about Decisive or Critical 2.

To be fair, they're all very good and the second variants are catchier, but Critical 2 alone has been arranged in all three arrangement albums. Give Critical 1 some love, please...

This was probably the only intro boss that actually caused a game over due to not exactly understanding how her mechanics worked. second time around though It was pretty clear that she can be a power house in the party.

When critical clash ii is hype and definitely main character energy. This song screams more boss energy, a more emotional approach to it. It's also why it's used in most Thronè bossfights.
