Vyasa did not sleep with the widows, again this is the problem with English translation. Both Pandu and Drutrastra was born from blessings of Vyasa. Same goes with Pandavas and Kauravas. Even Gandhari and Shakuni, Draupadi and Drupad.

A high level calculation of the number of soldiers who died in war of Mahabharata: Result = approx. 4 million. Here is the breakup:
1) Pandavas had 7 Aukshani army. Kauravas had 11 Aukshani army. Total = 18 Aukshani Army. Most of the army died in the war
2) 1 Aukshani = Elephants : Chariots : cavalry : Infantry in the ration 1:1:2:5, where 1 unit is 25,000 soldiers
3) 1 Aukshani = 25,000*9 = 225,000 soldiers
4) 18 Aukshani = 225,000*18 = 4,05,000 soldiers

Hello from India, while your story was pretty accurate, I would like to correct a small thing which is pronunciation of the names. the letter 'A' in the end of any name is to be considered silent. so its not Mahabharata its Mahabharat, A in the end is silent. similar way, its Arjun and not Arjuna, its Duryodhan and not Duryodhana, its Yudhishtir and not Yudhishtira, Bhim and not Bhima, Krishn and not Krishna and so on. The 'A' Being silent is not just in Mahabharat and its characters, it should be applied in other places as well. for example its Himalay and not Himalaya, its Karm and not Karma. while Spelling of all are correct, but you drop the 'A' in the end while saying it. This is outrageously over simplified version of the Mahabharata. Also to understand this epic... You also need to know the basic and background or lord krishn.... Who is the main architect of this epic lore. He is the human incarnation of God Vishnu.... And he gives tremendous wisdom and knowledge in this story.

Nice info but Satyavati didn’t actually married to Rishi Parashar(father of Rishi Vyasa). He just provided her a son without any marital/physical involvement stating that he (Vyasa) will be the one to answer all of the questions that would arise in the future

Karna was born before Kunti’s marriage and he was born from a boon

The Karna is the one of the main characters of the Mahabharata and you didn’t mention Karna had armor and earning when he was born.

Karna learns about his lineage before the war even begins. Krishna and Kunti both try to convince him to join the Panadawas and he is the eldest brother, but he refuses and decides to fight with Duryodhana. Even Bheeshma on his death bed of arrows in his final moments tries to convince Karna to join the Pandawas and end the war but he does not listen.

What separates Gita or Mahabhrata from other war based religious scriptures is that unlike others it's a war between believers but with contrasting karma; just vs unjust. While other scriptures made it about belivers vs nonbelivers, laying foundation for forced conversions, destruction of cultures, lives and people, Gita and Mahabharata teach the humanity about Karma and how even if you worship the god, the same god will allihinate you if you are unjust.
