Great video! I've learned a lot!
ОтветитьThank you for this. I've always believed the opposite on when to check tire pressure.
ОтветитьMy Edge 2018 tire pressure recomand 37lbs all round, but at that pressure, the car feels way too stiff , especialy on country roads, where I live. Is it so bad to ride at 32lbs ?
ОтветитьStill waiting for the tire brand that lasts forever.
ОтветитьLikes the video. Learned a lot about tires. Keep them coming Scotty.
A questions or a request. Have you ever thought offering classes to aspiring DIY mechanics.

Oh, Goodyear ACCIDENTALLY mixed the perfect ratio of sulfur and heat??? Such stupidity. Goodyear THOUGHT and CONCEIVED that the recipe would produce certain quantities. He didn't trip or drop or dip his balls in a serendipity magic potion. He THOUGHT.
ОтветитьHello Scotty ! We have a question for you ! We believe, that we need more information on how to inflate our tires !
My winter tires are scrap ! All four are old and cracked ! They done there time ! They have ben permuted each and every year and we realized just know, that these tires are worn out equally on all four; only on the outer ends; and the center of the tires are half way used up ! The tire dimensions are correct for this car ( P195/65R15) , 44 psi max, stamp on tire and max load is 615 kg (1,356 lbs) . The car manufacturer suggests 32 psi , vehicle capacity weight of 635 kg (1,400 lbs) . Usually we are only two people , rarely four, and we make short runs . We are thinking that these tires are under inflated ! And that we have to fine tune the pressure application ! The manufacturer 's 32 psi would be a minimum applied pressure corresponding to the total car weight ! Are we wrong in believing so ! Can you steer us in the wright direction !
Thank you very much !
Paul and Georgette
I would like to see a replacement of a water pump, Scotty. Namely, a '95 Dodge Ram 1500.
ОтветитьOr, fill your tires with N2 Scotty.
ОтветитьGreat video Scotty. I'm just missing something: "These Tires Will Last Forever". Which are the tires that will last forever? It was very educative, but I couldn't find the answer I was coming for. Maybe I just missed it somehow along the video. Could someone tell me?
ОтветитьWhat does m+s mean? Like for example M+S 235/40R19 96v
Ответитьgreat info, but now I'm tired out :P
ОтветитьLol,designed like a tractor tire,lol
ОтветитьI missed the part where you show us tires that last forever.
Ответитьi never knew that the profile was a percentage, amazing! The way i learned it was that the /"number" was just the measurement of the shoulder in mm so 215mm width and 55mm shoulder which is what you call the height , R 16 is the radius of the rim in inches
Ответитьi,m buying this michelin tire at 184$ each, i live in colo, wish me luck , cross climate 2, in october 2023
Ответитьwhat tire is the best in Thailand with Temp 45+ for small car .Toyota Yaris and Toyota Vios.
ОтветитьI’m so confused😕
ОтветитьScotty, I thought Joe Pesci was narrating. Holy Crap!
ОтветитьI wish someone would explain why tires rated for 65,000 miles need to be replaced at 40,000 miles.
ОтветитьWhat the heck? No mention of "all-weather" tires...? Not significantly more expensive than all-season and deliver better performance in a 4-season climate.
ОтветитьDid anyone see or hear the name of the tire that will last forever? My marriage was suppose to last forever! And that was 3 wives ago...! Yup, on my third 🥴! Maybe this one will last forever! If it doesn't I'll just watch this video and be just as confused and in the dark as exactly what forever is suppose to mean...😔!
ОтветитьI buy winter tires for the Ice in the northern states. I frequently need to drive through snow and Ice storms. I've had drives where the road was glare ice for hundreds of miles. With good all wheel drive and a decent winter tire the car will go where you point it as long as you have your foot on the gas. I drove at 65 mph in a controlled slide that entire trip. (late at night with no traffic)
ОтветитьThis great insightful video by the legendary Scotty! So the question is... which tire last forever again 🤔
ОтветитьDidn't mention which brand tires will last forever. Bummer heading
ОтветитьIf you're not used to his voice and pace, try playback speed 0.75
ОтветитьIn the UK we call Bias, cross ply.
ОтветитьThanks Scotty for being that Dad who taught us about cars that some of us never had.
ОтветитьBeen two years. How they holding up?
ОтветитьHow do the Mcc2 work on an EV Model y
ОтветитьScotty what all season tire would you recommend for best grip in snow and ice??? For passenger car. 245 45R 19. At a reasonable price.
ОтветитьWhich tire is better crossmax or kenda?
ОтветитьThank you Scotty brother =) You truly found your niche.
ОтветитьIf tyres don't wear. It's doesn't grip. Kills you quick
ОтветитьNever go cheap on tires or brakes.
ОтветитьNICE VIDEO.....👍👍🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
ОтветитьThanks Scotty,
I did have good luck with Michelin Tires and like to stick with them and no. I'll never touch
anything from the not long lasting Good Year brand - take care & try to stay out of trouble!
good video you out doin yourself
ОтветитьGreat basic info - hard to listen to as the gaps between sentences are too tight.
The result is a presentation that is a tiring run-on sentence.
In my experience, summer tires work fine until you find moisture on a road at the freezing point of water.
Wet road at 34 F (1C), they're sub-optimal, but ok.
But at 30F (-1C), if there's any moisture on the road (ice, slush, snow, sleet, etc) summer tires suddenly become 'VeryExciting'(tm).
"Excellent information, very detailed. You sound more professional when you don't shout in your videos. Keep up the good work!"
ОтветитьIs LEGO the largest tire manufacturer in the world?
That brand is, of course, LEGO. The Danish toy maker, celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, is far and away the world's largest tyre maker. In fact, the company makes almost 100 million more tyres than second-place Michelin.Aug 12, 2022
Watch the date on the (specifically used tires) tires.
A few years agon a Father had used tired mounted on a veh he had for his son - the tires were DRY-ROTTED and blew out while he was driving killing the son. Investigation had shown the tires were from many years prior - soo check the manufactire date on the sidewall as many tire places like to get rid of the older tires at a good price due to this dangerous fact.
Which tire pressure should you use to fill your tires - as all are different ?
- side of tire wall,
- owners manual,
- inside veh door jam??
Goodyear Assurance All-Season has great treads Jeep Latitude rotate every 5000 miles should be good 5 yrs or more*
