Just about jumped out my of chair when you said KTP,
Best store ever...
Carrying a cell phone stopped my every day carry. I have several peanuts that I used to enjoy carrying.
ОтветитьPicked up a natural micarta large stockman I clean up the edges than use them till i need to put them on the stone great content as usual 👌
ОтветитьThat's why I buy BUCK knives , the USA ones.
ОтветитьMuch better knives out there for the money (my opinion).
ОтветитьI have many Case knives. Came sharp I keep them sharp. Always enjoy having a case on me.
ОтветитьTry LIBERTY synthetic oils MADE IN THE USA.
ОтветитьAre you from Maine?
ОтветитьI’ve never gotten a Case knife that didn’t come with a factory burr .
Case ,… The knife you love to hate .
Or the knife you hate to love .
😆
I have 3 case knives. I cant get any of them sharp. So no more case knives for daily use. I put them in a box for the grandkids.
ОтветитьWeeeeeeeee...! 💃💃💃
ОтветитьBought a Case knife on vacation, did not check it out at the shop. Long story short, the knife had a wobbly blade when I unpackaged it. Sent the knife to Case for repair, 4 months it had not returned. I called they sent it back untounched.
ОтветитьIt is annoying that more often than not, one has to repair brand new knives from Case. I won't buy a Case knife unless I can go through a pile of them and find a "good one"...
ОтветитьI used electric barbershop clippers oil on mine, works great.
ОтветитьYou're an absolute joy to watch since I recently discovered your lovely channel!!!
❤👌❤🤙❤👍
Love the videos Erica
You may have covered this but I would love your recommendation on pocket system for trafitionals
Something light small
Maybe even packable in a slip pouch ?
I don't own any Case knives but I do have Rough riders that come the same way, they always get a blast out with metal cleaner to get the crap out, then a blade touch up and oiled! Go use your shit!!!!
ОтветитьOnly had a blunt knife once from case a small pocket hunter single blade also most expensive iv ordered a peanut apple green black shield should get any day 😃
ОтветитьFor oils I prefer mineral oil. Food safe and no nasty flavor. Use it on pivot and when I use an oil stone. But I actually prefer water stones.
ОтветитьDon't underestimate those little wr case knives.. their real workers now! I've carried them off and on for years and they keep on truck'n.
ОтветитьI'm not gonna lie and please don't take this the wrong way. I was a little skeptical when I saw a female doing this. However I was wrong. Young lady you killed this video! She definitely knows her way around a blade and her experience showed! I learned a lot about a case factory blade and appreciate your efforts. Well done!
ОтветитьServed in the US 🇺🇸 Army our tool box knife were government contracted Case Knife that are just junk .....a butter knife were sharper than a case folding knife! Typical government misuse of funds!
ОтветитьEnjoyed the video, great info! On really gritty pivots I’ll use wd40, move the blades partially open to open the springs a bit, and use an air hose (or compressed air) to blow into the pivots while knife is on a towel. Amazing the gunk that blows out.
ОтветитьI agree with the process and the reasoning, but I do this with every new knife, even a $400 Benchmade. Maybe just a little too much shade on Case.
I like to use ceramic as a touchup or final hone. Smiths used to make a variety of lengths in both fine and medium. I have a set I purchased and dated 1984. They were the top name in sharpening once upon a time.
Good job and a great demonstration👍
Very cool. I didn’t know Case got much love these days especially from the younger part of the community.
ОтветитьI like to use a new case without any oil for a week. Regular use. It'll free the pivots up just enough to my liking. Then I oil regularly
Ответитьcome help me with knives, can you cook ?
ОтветитьGreat video. I use White Lighting knife and tool lubricant. It's uses an ultra thin carrier to take a wax film
into the pivots. The carrier evaporates and as you work the blades the dry wax causes the dirt an debris
to shed out. I will give that KPL oil a try also.
I'm old enough to remember when American made knife brands like Case, Schrade Old Timer and Western came out of the box razor sharp.
Now the best knife brands come out of Scandinavian countries.
I couldn't afford a Case Sod buster so I got an Imperial Sod buster knife and despite three years of daily utility use: cutting weeds, cutting boxes up, opening mail, cutting up vegetables & fruits, cutting meat, carving wood, opening plastic packages, gutting fish, cutting finger nails, gathering herbal medicines, the blade remains sharp and holds an edge.
Love case
ОтветитьGreat vid for upkeep on slippys
ОтветитьExcellent tips, I would not have thought of. For honing, do you think the same result can be accomplished using a sharpening stone?
ОтветитьOne thing you need to do when you get a new knife 80% of the time: put your own edge on it!!!! knife manufacturers these days just can't do it right!
ОтветитьI've been using Case knives for many years and didn't know this. Appreciated !
ОтветитьBeautiful scale color on a very attractive knife. Thanks for the great content.
ОтветитьI still like Case knives, and will continue to support them. Thanks for the video
ОтветитьYou make awesome videos. Really impressed with your style and variety of content.
ОтветитьI have a question, i have just got a buck 112 ,problem is when the blade is closed the tip of the knife sticks up a very tiny bit, bit if you run your finger over the tup when its closed will cut your finger. Is this normal for buck knives?
ОтветитьThe 1 thing I would do with a case knife is throw it in the garbage can. They do not take pride in their work anymore. Downfall of one of the most iconic knife brands ever.
ОтветитьI love Case Knives..but you are so right about the burr...i have at least a dozen out in the garage ..thanks..im going to go tune them up!..Steve from Nova Scotia ,Canada
ОтветитьThe Bucks I've bought recently have been so full of polishing compound grime they wouldn't even close properly
ОтветитьTaking notes 📝
ОтветитьThis video was sooo informative!! Love all the detail you give us to better understand why and how to take care of our knives!!
ОтветитьYou got it girl, exactly what I do, much of this is common sense but good practice.
ОтветитьAs a matter of course I do this to EVERY knife I get from a production company. Its just the way it is. I normally do not use CLPs or penetrating oils on the handles because sometimes that stuff gets into the scales. Food grade light mineral oil works well for me and I don't use my knives as fidget spinners. You can mash the end of a q tip with a pair of needle nose pliers or even whittle down a popsicle stick to help clean out blade channels
ОтветитьI like when the knife has a nice half stop
ОтветитьHave you used an ultrasonic cleaner for a knife? Sometimes I do that and I'm surprised at how much gunk I collect lol
Ответить"sent from my Orb" - if you watch Cedric and Ada you know what I'm talking about 🤣
ОтветитьI can’t sharpen knives anymore without hearing your voice say “Might as well show up with a mirror polished edge Sodbuster- I might get extra lucky” 😅😅😅 Best line in a knife video EVER! Only a “knife person” would think in those terms…
Ответить
