I was going through a certain situation in my life when I saw this. God knows I love this movie

The ubiquitous juxtaposition in all of the major themes is beautifully nuanced. This picture couldn't have been made without elite actors. Coppola's characters carry an unseen, unspoken burden. Very often sad people that feel guilty for being sad.
Though in a foreign land, with a language barrier, often struggling to understand, let alone participate in the culture mirrors Bob and Charlotte's lives at the moment. Both at strange transition points of life. Both are uncertain, unsatisfied and "strangers in a strange land".
Tokyo is all about fleeting moments, as I’m sure many a big city is, but this film captured it beautifully. This version of Tokyo no longer exists to the same extent (rapid increase in tourism has made things much more accessible, while also seeing the crackdown on certain, more “uniquely Japanese” things, as they might be viewed negatively to outsiders), but I highly recommend everyone to visit at least once. I came to Japan in 2008, and it was very, very similar to this movie.
ОтветитьPerfect movie. I need to watch it again
ОтветитьThe direct cinema, fly on the wall docu-style approach really works for a sequence like this. It makes you feel like you're there with them. I've never been to Tokyo but this gives me a taste of what it's like
Ответитьthis clip alone is everything
ОтветитьA feature length Suntory commercial.
ОтветитьA Suntory commercial pretending to be a movie. Clever.
ОтветитьPhoenix - Rome
ОтветитьLove this movie.
ОтветитьWhy didn’t Sophia Coppola make more movies? We need more of this.
ОтветитьMy favorite movie of all time.

ОтветитьThis movie.
ОтветитьEpic. Saw this on the Movie 🎥 Theater 🎭
ОтветитьAnyone that has been to Tokyo can relate to this scene.
Sofia’s ability to take me back to memories of encounters with strangers in dark karaoke bars, laneway bars I’ll never find again and a great intense love affair with someone I never saw again gets me every single time.
I always loved the outfit Bill Murray went out with on that night. Turned inside out yellow camo tshirt with a blazer. I dig the style lol
ОтветитьAnyone who's ever experienced such connection will never be bored with this movie. Timeless masterpiece.
ОтветитьMe kids where small when this came out their all in college.
ОтветитьThis movie really is one of the greatest and well made from every aspect, writing, direction, filming, location, acting ect ect. A Masterpiece if you have the eye
ОтветитьIt's just Bob & Charlotte's eye contact during the karaoke for me.
Ответитьesta pelicula es un icono. no entiendo como no es tan mundialmente aclamada. es buenisima. todos somos bill
ОтветитьWhat's the name of the song that Scarlett sings?
ОтветитьMelupakan kebahagiaan? 😊
ОтветитьScarlett Johansson oooh la la
ОтветитьShortly after seeing this movie the 1st couple times I realized that Scarlett Johansson is actually an accomplished singer as well.
So it was endearing to notice that she had to roughen up her karaoke singing to appear as though she wasn't a great singer. Although she's not that hard on the eyes alone, I can never get enough of her voice and her laughter is like the sound of Angels!!!
That’s the one and only Hiromix!
ОтветитьGod say the Queeeeeee, a Russian regime.... made you a mor-rrrrrrrrrrow, a potential H bwow! God say the Queeeeee, she aint no human beeee. It's no future...in England's dreamay lol
ОтветитьI’m here because of the music Video Stillz directed for Rosalia he based it off this movie
ОтветитьSo, brilliant. I have similar experiences in Turkey and in S.Korea.
ОтветитьI love SJ!
ОтветитьIt's wild that Johansson was 17 here. SEVENTEEN.
ОтветитьReminds me of my first ever voyage on a plane going to Europe back in 2001 for a foreign exchange student experience … I met a female friend who will forever be in my memory no matter how old I get. Thank you for the sweet memories.. meeting you was no accident.
ОтветитьScarlett was so great until she became a Hillary wannabee
