Me and 2 other software engineers got laid off recently.
They outsourced a team from a low cost center country to replace us.

I remember in the past 2 years I was constantly bombarded with emails about a new recruit joining the company (its a global company, so many people are hired/turnover/etc).

It was almost as if every 2 weeks the Australian branch would have a new recruit, and this would go for 2 years.
Most of these roles were for consultancy.

I can't say that the company made a right or wrong decision of laying us off, but we knew the suite of software applications products very well.
We even were close to our clients.

Now, our clients will find out that we were replaced by some outsourced team, they may not have trust or maybe they will, I don't know.

But I know for one, it was wrong to lay us off.
We knew the product.
We knew the clients, we have a professional relationship with them.

Meanwhile iPhone 15 lineup launches...
