I play in the MLS all the time (cuz I’m American) and my biggest tip is to get rid of all your draft picks for GAM and international slots bc there is rarely anyone good that comes from the draft. And buy down every contract with GAM cuz of that stupid salary cap. Im sure you domt even know what GAM is but just trust

I can tell you from experience that Mexico is better then the US if you want to win the North American Champions League.

I'm curently hunting my second leg of the pentagon with Santos Laguna in Mexico. It's a strange league fomat, and the rules are interesting. But the MLS is probably more interesting for viewing.

Has to be the MLS just to see you struggle kev. I'm disappointed we never got a stadium tour for the final. Would have loved to have seen how many tyres were outside pyramids stadium.

The Kansas City MLS team (Sporting Kansas City) have made it to the Champions League/Cup a few times, I think the farthest they've gotten is the semifinal round. Only three MLS teams have won the whole thing (LA Galaxy, DC United, and Seattle Sounders), but I expect most have made it into the tournament, save perhaps for the most recent expansion teams.

I think you should go to the CPL. Qualification should be a breeze, winning... will be a challenge. Since the CPL is fairly young, only a couple of teams have been in the tournament - Forge and Cavalry, IIRC - and neither got far. Up to three teams can qualify (out of 8, good odds!), two through the league and another through the Canadian Championship (which would probably require beating at least one MLS team).

Next: Complete the Pentagon from nations that have never won it IRL. 😊

I'd prefer MLS because I'm American, but I also think it would be a wise choice anyway. The reality of Liga MX is that the best teams (Tigres, Club America, Cruz Azul, Monterrey, sometimes Chivas or Toluca or Atlas) are better than MLS teams most of the time -- MLS does pull upsets on the regular -- but they've all won Champions Leagues. The ones that haven't won a Champions League (Mazatlan, Queretaro, etc.) are far worse than most MLS teams. An average MLS side is a more advantageous starting point than an average Liga MX side.

Also, I wanna see you deal with salary caps and trades and all the other ridiculous roster rules. 🤣
