Halo: TV Series - Angry Review

I’m just finding this, and as sci-fi fan who knows nothing of the lore beyond the very basics. This show is sweet. I’m sorry all you gamers hate it, that’s how I feel about most Marvel stuff being an avid comic reader. I still try to enjoy them for what they are.

I finally got around to watching this (took long because of y'alls bad reviews) and wow I am glad I decided to ignore y'all. This show is really good. Maybe it doesn't follow the games but i't a great Sci Fi show, despite some flaws.

I wouldn't say it dropped off in Episode 2.

By the time Master Chief and Kwan were on the ship leaving Magdrigal, it had already dropped off. Kwan saying that she will tell all the colonies to run away from USNC after just witnessing an alien race killing her entire colony and the only thing to stand against the aliens being the Spartans is completely idiotic.

Also, funny hearing Alex say that Godzilla with good rendering of Godzilla is too expensive and having cheap human actors ruins a Godzilla movie. Godzilla Minus One proved him wrong.

I watch AJS’s Halo TV series review religiously whenever I’m bored or feeling down. It’s great stuff lol

May i enquire, if you ALL remember the live action trailer for halo 3, htf is THAT combat SOOOO much more legendary compared to the spew of garbage that i watched.... the whole reason i bought a prime subscription was to watch my favorite game of my teenage years come to life....NOT to see who the master chief is....or what his bread buns look like 🙄 dont get me wrong, the first scene, ok i spose, seeing young kids get plastered by elites (very gutsy)

If it was actually master chief at that gunpoint situation, he would’ve walked up to her, snatched the gun out of her hands, and walk up close to her and say this. “If I wanted you dead…. (He leans close to her face as she stares at him with fear) you’d be dead”. Then he walks away and works on making the ship fly again.

It aint that bad. Id much rather have it than not have it

Master Chief made love with Makee, is that good?

I loved the series, I thought it’s good for none game fans, but I agree that we shouldn’t see the face of the master chief.
Another issue I might say is too many arks stories that will go nowhere

I don't care if your a Halo fan or not, the Paramount Halo TV show is a blatant cash grab, open palm sloppy slap to the face... Not just to Halo fans and gamers, but to anyone who enjoys a semblance of competent narrative!

Of course they had to go woke and make Keyes black. Let me guess, in season 2 we'll have anti-Trump Elites and UNSC marines lecturing me on gender fluidiity.

Came to rewatch Joe's analysis. I finally watched the last seven episodes after I stopped watching and it really wasn't that bad. Since it's not Canon, I can go with it. A lot of cool action scenes. Hoping season 2 is even better.

I'm coming back to this video long after first season finished and I'm still gonna stand by the statement that the show is utter dogshit and completely disrespects the Halo IP. I had more fun watching the original Halo 3 live action trailers. They felt gritty, they felt desperately-paced like it's an actual war which humanity is losing (Yes I know the season starts before the true covenant war is set to begin, I don't care, but the actual halo lore covered pre-covenant war JUST fine without this fanfiction-level writing story they've made). The first season doesn't even begin to capture the essence of that feeling. Granted I'll give some credit where it's due, some of the action sequences were pretty good but they don't even come close to redeeming this awful adaptation of Halo. Some of the characters, despite the bad writing, stood out as their selected characters. Halsey and Keyes actually felt a bit like their original characters, but as for the rest of the show...it's just nothing bit disappointment after disappointment. Blind watchers padded the reviews which is exactly what the Paramount assholes were counting on while actual fans of Halo's books and games got burned, and now we have to endure a second season of this crap.

I never played the game but this series was fantastic. Great story and it was fun to watch.

as someone whos played the game and read the books, it wasnt as bad as they explain it. Episode 2 was literally about chief discovering what the artifact was, wym its filler ?
also everyone here expecting the game, well its not lol and that would suck too cause aint no one trying to watch 10 episodes of battle like a game. its a game for a reason.

I went into the first episode having read a lot of complaints, so I thought I knew what I was in for. It's clearly not a show made for people who like the games. But that Mass Effect reference halfway through the episode threw me off guard so hard I had to pause to scream my head of. Why would they not be satisfied by ruining one beloved video game series? Why throw in Mass Effect as well?! Ugh, honestly... Who thought this was a good idea?

I mean you're right but wrong. This series is so bad, two girls one cup better writing and more entertainment value. These guys reviewing claim to be halo nerds but don't even know major characters names and canon from the books. There's almost 40 awesome books I've read multiple times that they could have made in to a movie series. Instead, woke sjw diahrreah. These guys are understating how bad this is. They blackify characters and just destroy the characters, they eviscerate who the characters are at their very heart! If you're a halo fan, you should avoid this. Anyone from 343 involved in this should be fired and any writers, hell, anyone involved with this show should never be allowed to write again. They should be imprisoned for war crimes.

I watched this show before I played the games and I still thought this show was crap

The greatest film directors in history are making this and you have a problem with it? Should we fire all of them including Steven Spielberg and put you in charge? Do you have any experience in film direction? Are you just a geek gamer who can`t see beyond the simple premise of the game? Maybe you just need to vent for some reason because you are stressed out. Halo is fine. It looks great. It is action packed and it is only in the first season. Anyone who hates this is missing the point. This is a film. Not a video game. In order to make a film series you need a story line. It must be much larger than that of the simple game and it has to go for several seasons! To do that you have to expand on an idea. So if it is different than the game that is a good thing because the game has a limited theme. You don`t need a detailed story to push buttons on a game controller.

Dunno if yawl realize this. Some websites now restrict your content on three things. First your location, second the registered location of your account. Third, the nation your credit card is registered to. So While VPN's can give you access to some things, I still cannot watch quite a few things out there.

I didnt give a shit about it following Halo games to the tee. Yes the games were great, but they didnt have that much story because it was a GAME FFS. I love how they made Tv series, far more interesting story and characters. Stupid fanboys can cry.

The show is a solid 2/10. If they actually went off his personality from the Book oblivion and silent storm and didn’t make Halsey a sociopath and had the Spartans fight behind enemy lines alongside ODSTs trying to slow down the advance of the covenant reaching the inner colonies the show would’ve been good. Also take out the covenant spy lady and Kwan they are so cringe.

Kwan was the worst. One of the most horribly written TV characters ever. I couldn't even get past the third episode before I went into nope mode.

Show has a 7.1 on imdb and a slew of paid ratings praising it and calling anyone who doesn't like it just fanboys who want a "frame by frame" recreation of the game. It's disgusting.

I was disappointed about the helmet, the characters that no one cares about and everything else. BUT I still enjoy the show. To me 343 fucked everything up for the games so it's not a new thing. Still I understand that the fx are super expensive and they probably can't afford to make every episode awesome. They opted for a diffrrent approach which is understandable. It's nothing like the greatness of the first games that made us fall in love with halo but I didn't expect it to be it either.

Halo is a simple concept of a Green Armored Soldier shooting Aliens. The show is a Anti-Patriotic message about how all the Spartans Helmets are used for Miltiary Espionage and how everyone is spying on each other and keeping too many top secrets. Dude this is the wrong IP to do that. Halo is the combination of Ironman and Gundam we don't need all this other bullcrap. The problem is that not a single pair of character that have a Heart to Heart Chat with one another. Like is anybody friends with one another? One scene of 2 UNSC Marines having a converstion about their girlfriends back in their Homeworlds or how certain MREs suck ass, That would have done the trick even if they get killed off screen or some bullshit. I want to see military banter that tells us Humans are United. What we get is the whole cast deliberately feel very uncomfortable with every converstion they have with each other! This show feel so fucken creepy because of this nonsense!

Just got round to watching it and it was absolutely awesome, so much better than I thought it was going to be. The actor who plays MC is perfect. Got better every episode.

Aside from the lore breaking. As a stand alone i found the series quite good. The intention was clearly to tell a story. Great fx, casting and Aliens.

the unmasking of chief is incredibly messed up, They robbed those that created this IP of that moment and just did a stupid "OH LOOK WHAT WE DID FOR YOU!"

I think the 20 years it took for this to be made since the first game is deliberate

Too much time went by, too many people came after halo 3 and missed the halo hype of the 2000s

If you go around and ask the people who love the series if they ever played halo, about 8/10 would say they didn't

I didn’t know what to expect from this show, but I didn’t expect it to be boring.

While MC’s face is never shown in the games, the books describe him as being ghostly white with black hair and some grey due to his age, augmentations, and constant time spent in his suit.

Halo TV ruined it. Walked away at episode 7. You dont understand why this isn't Halo for the fans? Really? Have you heard of the place called "Hollywood"? Kidding of course. Halo 2 sold what, 100M day 1? The fans make up more than the "Non"-fans that would watch this.

Imagine how good a halo show would be if it literally just followed the games.

Episode one jumping between marines and chief on the pillar of autumn trying to escape.
Jumping between a horror/suspense styled story with the marines dealing with their situation and the action of chief.

Get woke, go broke... nuff said.
