ANTHEM - Is It Worth It in 2024?

Anthem is definitely one of the games of all time

Is $3.99 a bargain for this game? That’s what it’s at right now on the PS store.

PS4 and you spend like 150 bucks and play the game with no issues, and it is one of my favourite games. YOU CAN FLY !!! AND SHOOT!

Anthem is really good, they just didn't draw enough players with the lack of launch content and players never really bothered coming to the game when the content (which should have been there at launch) came in. The game died because it was rushed and was made to be too demanding at first (E3 demo) so they had to scale back a whole lot so it would actually run on machines of the time.

Edit: Also doesn't help that Warframe turned into an actual masterpiece that's able to draw players back with every major update.

so its 2023 and the tech issue are still there so i will ignore those (for me its a lot of double loading due to dc which need me to use another package setup, so proxy or other stuff to rescieve packages currect; some mmo lose packages due to isp for some unknown reason rescieving some game data as torrent type, aka order doesnt matter; which ingames absolutely does)
but i am ignoring the tech issues bc its obv fix if it had the dev time;



honestly I had only heard bad about anthem so it was a desperation, 5€, sub to test it.
and BOY did I get supriced;


Anthem, honestly, Has the best dialog, delivery, writing, and voice acting, persona's etc I've ever seen in any RPG;
the animation off faces together with the voice acting, suprime, makes you actually see and feel this is a real person; the way the dialog and all quest etc is dynamically worked into interesting and honestly Very entertaining, some outright hilarious; due to the extreme amount off small details to language, suprime animation off faces to potray the emotion, mood, action, voice etc.
its sooo good that after 20 hours off just following the story and doing every mission and enjoying; I am still blown away over almost every dialog and interaction and its the first RPG EVER I got more than an hour into before I was spam skipping 95% off all dialog (here I heard and enjoyed everyone of them; and I am looking forward to talking to some off the characters again;)


also the suprime way to do interactions; telling you the emotion with a single line off words and then have the voice actor act it out, it is so insanely well done (I use the female voice and honestly its Really good for game voicing; but Every other character in the game are Much better, they are Supreme. never seen the likes.

also Everything about the first 20 hours in anthem (ignoring tech issues) has been an absolute Blast compared to ANY other game.
Come on I dare EVERYONE to pick their All time favourite MMO/RPG etc and Play through just 10 hours off it then the first 10 hours off anthem and feel the difference in how engaged and entertained most off us will feel.

It's Ironman in a Destiny 1 game.With the most boring grinding system.

How you are playing the game? Did you have to do something special to get into the servers? I can't connect to any of the servers in the US. Is there something I'm missing or not doing correctly?

next time you run a more modern game on a 2080 (or anything in the 20 series) dont put it on max graphics, you arent going to be able to run it.

as someone who plays this game on both xbox and pc I can tell you that some of the problems listed in this video are primarily due to your graphics setting being way too fucking high.

this game requires a 2060 at least to run, you have a 2080. there is around a seven percent difference between a 3070 ti and a 3080 ti, which means if we assume its the same for the 20 series you are looking at a GPU that is 14 percent better than what is required.

try running this game at medium graphics first.

Yeah I played this game and loved it, it had so much potential but it was given up on and trashed

I enjoyed pretty much every minute when i played but it definitely had some lag issues and the load times werent great. Otherwise the only bad thing for me was none of my friends wanting to try it cuz all they played at the time was fort, cod, and siege

underrated game man. I still play it til this day. Still doesnt make sense to give up on a game so good. It also set a precedent on flying mechanics.. Havent seen any other game come close to flight fun as this game. Plus the weapons are all cool af. I play FREEPLAY for hours just flying around blowing shit up. They should reconsider and make ANTHEM 2. If they had better marketing, im sure people will go crazy for it. Just promote it better, add a more worldwide map, few more world event options and additional story lines and you got a game people with play forever. They will spend years puttin time into dogshit games but throw away great games like this. Crazy...

Is anthem still crashing machines in 2023???

Interesting to see someone else's take on this who started fresh. I'm more biased since I have played the game so much and know probably everything there is to know about this game. Unfortunately at some point I started to have connection issues like shown in the video all the time. Haven't played in a while now and when nostalgia hits I watch my own videos lol.

once your inventory is full its a nightmare

anthem's best part was the end game combat. being able to put your build together and doing raids was a great experience. however the gameplay loop was very bland outside of that. I was able to put roughly 400 hours total into anthem, and enjoyed most of it. I just wish EA would have to decided to green light anthem 2.0 which would have made the game leagues better and potentially made anthem a "top tier" game.

This game had the potential, if it wernt for the mountin of bad press (deserved) and the previous failure of andromeda this game couldve been made much better with updates.

Anthem stands as an example of why it's bad to rush out games and not give them the proper amount of development time.
A semi interesting story, with genuinely fun gameplay, that would have shined if they actually had the chance to polish it.

dead hubs with only one room where you even see other players, lack of variety in the guns, two or three different templates with different colours for four or five types, samey missions which you've played through if you go through the campaign 'collectables' which amount to different colour schemes, material and emotes for your javelin

EA seem to cheap out on servers when launching games, when titanfall came out it had regular server disconnects as well

I liked this game. I just wish it was sure about what it was. Caveat, I got it for $5 from EbGames (GameStop) when it was already announced the servers were going to be canned. Pity, because multiplayer had some interesting builds in its compulsorily co-op phase after you finish the campaign.

If anthem was done properly with more customization and endgame content, I could be one of the great games

Anthem was great ... after playing Destiny 1 and 2 for 9 years, Warframe for 3, Borderlands 2 and 3 for over 2.5k hours I can say ... I miss Anthem. It was unique and sadly wasn't even given a chance to develop into a proper game with some proper content. I had such a great potential. And for a game that was launched 4 years ago (2019) - it still looks amazing.

the areas feel to empty,not enough enemies, missions are boring and repetitive ,and too few people are playing

I just got it for $5 on ps4. So far im loving the gameplay and the lore. My ranger Javelin makes me feel like I'm a discount ironman with cooler armor. Some PvP would have been a nice addition but it's still fun so far.

Warframe started as a titan but returned to us as a god

Kind of sad what happened to Bioware signature games thx to bad execution by them and EA! Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem could be an awesome games if they would be executed better which is btw something EA is getting known for more often than in the past!
I hope Bioware will get to its glory days even without its key "doctors" and other key folks. They were and hopefully still r great game studio!

Can someone explain why this game is hated so much? Why is everyone referring to it in the past tense. I just played for like 2 hours cuz I was bored and it seems great. Sure the plot isn’t thick but it doesn’t need to be a movie script. Are the devs just completely done with it and won’t put out patch updates for the future? I’m confused…

EA will revive Anthem in time.

This game sho7ld come out 10 years later named Anthem Rebirth and make the game we were promised in the PS6 and whatever XBOX is naming their next console

there were things left out as to why this game was good, i was a fan since the first e3 announcement and preordered anthem and played it from day one and never experienced any technical issues presented in this video, people hated anthem because they wanted more and didnt get it, bioware didnt cancel the game EA did in their infinite wisdom, this was a great game that is still great and its time for people to hop off the bandwagon and acknowledge the game for what it really is

Make Anthem great again, bring it back and continue development where you left off. Fulfill the promises made before the game launched. Anthem can be fixed, enhanced and further expanded on.

It seems to me that the next Mass Effect will be as bad as Anthem.
