Was just wondering is that your grandads tools behind you your office? I hope so cause it looks like they were put up with love.

For a guy who does some of the most incredible work and has such insightful design, you're far too polite to a person who treated you like some lackey. At the end, you still call him 'client,' when he is nothing more than a total ass. In my last contact with him, I would let him know that I would be informing every designer I ever heard of to make sure they don't have a similar experience.

Several people have said what I was thinking, I liked all 3 designs. However, the final one was the best. Out of curiosity, how much does a bed like this go for? Will you make more like this or leave it as "One of a Kind"? Great workmanship.

So you started working on a large project without a deposit or full payment beforehand? Before you even agreed on a price? Sounds like bad business practice to me. You screwed yourself, it's not your client's fault.

@pedullastudio Hey Nick, I love your woodwork style and ur whole perfectionist take on woodworking. I recently came across you and truly think your the most talented woodworker that I've seen. Your videos are quality and your work is some of the most beautiful and creative pieces of bespoke furniture that I have ever seen. I'm also in Sydney, Australia I'm 18 and I would love to work with you, and learn a few techniques from your craft or just come down and check out your pieces out in real life.

I liked the second version best. When I see those curved slats, I just imagine the dust that will collect in between, and the hassle of cleaning in between them every week.

I think the best way to approach the "design cost" issue is to simply inform the customer that it's done at a set rate for this initial proposal, then any reiteration is done at a percentage of the set fee until the approve the final design... This final design is now the property of the customer and they are free to move forward with you or move on to another company to manufacture that design, you've been paid for your work, and the customer has what's been paid for to that point, so no loss to you or them... The trick to ensuring that they stay with you for the manufacturing is to offer to negate all design fees of the final invoice, effectively making that part free of charge in return for retaining the manufactur... The rest is down to the quality of what you can produce and how good you are at "selling ice to Eskimos"... 😂

When you said "that client is me" I gave your video a like right away. I'm glad you didn't stop believing in yourself and your design. I practice Architecture so I can relate to your story. I actually tried burning an Architecture model I made because I thought it look cool 😅 (Freshmen Year)

WOW Mr Pedulla! You are amazing! Thank you for the high octane inspirational shot, I feel so eager to get back to my own pieces. Too much client work lately, which has paid well, but it is less cool than this, not forgetting that you do go through frustrations throughout! Thank you for this wonderful cinematic experience! I am blown away!

The Char'd inserts would have looked better against a dark stained wood, and not so contrasting, hence your dimpled walnut on walnut looked great.
But it still resulted in the best piece. So well done!
