And with the 338 I personally load 250 gr MRX made by Barnes
ОтветитьThe 340 Weatherby is also Great, essentially the 338 is my favorite caliber and living in Alaska half of time it’s been always the caliber for the North country
Ответить6.5 by 55 used in early Olympics also at one stage held the record biggest pig in Europe but what about the 6.5 by 65 not commonly used but basically a 6.5 Mauser magnum
ОтветитьWow, that is an impressive all star group. Eric Cortana has the long range receipts.
ОтветитьOur indoor range in may area max at 50 yards , most area is maybe 100-200 yards max , and that’s open field , most hunting in the woods is like 40-80 yards
ОтветитьWhat's the second from the left, in the cover photo?
ОтветитьI love this!
ОтветитьLet's not forget the old 264 win mag
Ответить7mm mag just is hard to argue with. It just works
ОтветитьSo for Nils, why not the 223 AI? Less neck trimming and your gun still shoots 223.
ОтветитьOh man picking 223 for your favorite anything hurts to hear
Lets let the industrial military complex pick our civilian ammo that makes sense 😂
Who-Tee-Who i follow you! At my last moose hunt at my friend’s camp he told me his father shot a moose from the camp to the end of the lake. Dropped it down after the shot. I checked with my range finder: 363 yds! That is long range and he shot it with a 30-06! I use a 7 Rem Mag and i love it for moose!
ОтветитьWho tee who is a big oh boy.
Lol
Did anyone else see how the chart said the 7mm max has almost 3000 foot-pounds of energy and 400 yard's???
Is this true?
. 375 Cheytec
ОтветитьIf I had to choose a rifle over my bows it would be the 7mm rem mag. But until then I will continue to hunt like a real man with sticks😂 awesome video guys
ОтветитьThe only way 2% of the population has shot (and hit) targets at 1000 yards is if you define population meaning those people who own a bolt action rifle in a caliber other than 243 or 30-06 and have a scope costing more than $500.
I bet there are less than 10,000 people in the US who have shot at 1000 yards.
We gun owners often way over estimate gun knowledge and ownership among the general public.
300 wsm is my fav for long range. Extremely accurate, easy to load for, can see your misses, good barrel life etc.
ОтветитьWeatherby 300 mag all day long!!!
ОтветитьI’m 100% with the big guy. Amongst calibers you talked about, only 7 mag shines. But any of you ever heard about 270 win? Man, it’s phenomenal. Light and lethal.
ОтветитьWow I'm so tired of hearing about this rich guy those even know about can't get breath have no idea what they are you know that's all you do is talk about all you talk about is calibers and rifles that nobody can afford so I think I'm just going to unsubscribe from new channel thank you for your time
ОтветитьWhen comes the 7 prc W as a commercial round??? Basically the 284 win done "on time" and not 40 years too early. .. haha
ОтветитьWho tee who!!
ОтветитьCan you go a week without doing a cartridge comparison to get views? Talk more about shot placement
ОтветитьGreat video! Nice to see my favorite folks altogether! My choice 6 creed because readily available. For mags, 7mm Remington! Thanks for all the good food for thought!
ОтветитьI have 3 favorites. 1. Encore 15" bull barrel pistol in 7mm-08. 2. 6.8 Western. 3. .300 WinMag.
ОтветитьExcellent to hear 100s of years of experience and perspective plus all the mutual respect of opinions.
A case can be for 22lr as its use as a long range tool to practice or introducing this discipline is invaluable. The nos of high end bolts rigs in the same dollar category of even elite centerfire rigs shows alone it has merrit for a favorite in LR shooting.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I got out so long ago I didn’t even know about the 7prcw. But I have a 6.5 prc now and kinda figured that 7 prc mite really make some progress but facts don’t lie that 30-32” don’t like much more than about the 2900’s. No matter the how you push that 180-190. Sometimes that fast short node doesn’t mean it’ll walk away from that wider second/slower 97-98% node. That 7prcw does seem like a “smooth square consistent” good idea.
ОтветитьUp until eight years ago I was in a 1000 yard club, and the most popular cartridge was the .284 win, it has enough power to easily go the distance and is not a bad barrel burner. I used that in light gun competitions and the weatherby 300 for my heavy gun. In spite of the weatherby having a lot more powder, it did not go through barrels much quicker than the .284 win. I found the 7mm magnums very severe on barrels. I love the high BC projectiles with the 7mms, I have used the 7mm rem mag, but living in a warm climate, during summer, the barrel gets too hot. If I start shooting again I might try a 280 Ackley with the light gun and return to the 300 weatherby as the heavy or the 300 Norma which I have used. The beauty of a .30 mag is that it will handle the high BC bergers of the 215 grain variety. I was getting a similar barrel life with the 30 cal mags as I was getting out of the 7mm win and the 30 cal mags were far more durable than any 7mm mag that I have shot.
ОтветитьAlthough for a magnum round I love the 300 win mag. That was my dads big game round growing up and I have never lost a deer with one. As I got older in my twenty’s I started reloading so I could shoot my 300 and after going into the reloading rabbit hole I’m not surprised that a 7mm bullet was the top choice. There are many rounds chamber for 7mm and it’s a Reloaders best friend when it comes to bullet selection for gn weight. In the 308 it goes 150,168,170,175,180,190,220 there might be some more but in 7mm they go from the low 100’s all the way up to 220 in 5 gn increments
ОтветитьCan you explain moa with shooting??
Ответить338 Lapua miles better for long range hunting and shooting
ОтветитьInteresting my 1958 wby mkv in 270wby mag still shoots sub moa at 500/W pencil barrel 🤷♂️ 140accubonds I'd shoot out to 700 on sticks
ОтветитьSmaller targets for shorter range ????
ОтветитьI dont see mark from markandsamafterwork in here. Hmmm
ОтветитьYou should do the same topic with hunters, for big game. My first pick is 28 Nosler. Next, perhaps the Weatherby 6.5-300, or 26 Nosler. As a hunter, I do not care at all about barrel burners😅
Ответить7x57 mm Ackley Improved
Ответить300 winmag.......not really into 'man bun' cartridges
Ответить308 all day!
Ответить6 guy's 1 gun🤨
Ответить223, 7mag and 308 are more accessible when it comes to purchasing the components to reload. Personally that needs to be factored in when picking a long range shooter. I think 500 yards in 308. 7 Mag for 100 to 1000. And I am talking about hunting big game. For plinking 223 is my go to.
ОтветитьCan you lads spread out a bit. Looks like a sausage fest.
ОтветитьThe last guy has to be a vet lol
ОтветитьI know someone is full of something to hace a 6.5 Creedmore instead of a 28 Nosler. The Nosler outperforms every thing on this list
ОтветитьButt hey, whotee went for the 7mm you can actually get ammo for.
ОтветитьYou showed the stock but no information as to if it is available for purchase and where.
ОтветитьI like the cartridges you can buy at Walmart and academys
ОтветитьOhh shit it’s whoteewho
Ответить7 mag for the win!!!!!
ОтветитьI'm loving these meet up videos!
