I went down 3 weeks ago and today was the first day i could walk. Why didnt i wear proper gear? Didnt think it was important. Did i wish i wore proper gear? For sure! Planning to get proper jacket and boots. Why no riding pants? Dont have the money yet 😂 i will get one sooner or later

I highly disagree with everything you have said in this video. If you weigh all your safety concerns on dollars than you shouldn't even ride. Why should dollars be compared to your life which cannot be replaced? If you can't afford brand new gear i.e. jacket, gloves, full leather pants, buy used. I do not reccomend buying a used helmet as one does not know what happened during its use unless you are experienced and can spot issues. Simple fact, spend the money(if you dont have it at that time, be PAITIENT, save your money and then purchase the gear you want and need). For me, I would rather spend the money on really good riding gear to protect myself in the event of a fall or as we all know the non-drivers out there that just dont pay enough attention, than to wish I had it laying in the hospital bed permanently paralyzed or needing massive skin grafts. Be safe, wear your riding gear everytime, all the time. Shalom✡🙏👌

Really if you need a budget, save your money and wait and buy your gear first riding jeans are better than a full suit more comfortable save your money by for comfort

I could have done without the pube commercial in the middle.

Base Equipment should be a proper Helmet, proper gloves, a proper Jacket and proper boots. This is also what I use every day. In addition proper motorcycle pants do make a lot of sense but I personally only put them on when I ride a longer distance to be honest.

I HATE JEANS

Air bags prevent spinal injured and prevent head movement they don’t take up to much space until they inflate. Not a beginner system but Definitely not a bad purchase.

I wear blue jeans ,leather cowboy boots and a riding jacket with a Icon helmet, I have taking some falls and rolled around in gravel but it did the trick to keep me safe. In my opinion some of that stuff is a bit over kill. but if it makes you feel safe by all means get it. I ride a sports bike and a cruiser.

what i think you should have as a bare minimum: helmet (duh), gloves, jacket. (Maybe even riding shoes to protect your ankles in case of a falling off of your bike or your bike falling on your leg and crushing it)

Honestly I have survived 35 years of serious motorcycle miles with nothing more than jeans, boots, leather jacket , gloves and a helmet at very most.
Maybe try riding safely.

I went down in the city and if it weren't for my riding pants with armor I would have broken both my knees. It doesn't matter what kind of protection but the pants with armor are good cause I was able to walk into the ambulance. Just food for thought.

I know people think airbags are gonna break the bank but you can get a good tether airbag for $130 or so. Luckily I have never had to use mine.

Remember... This advice comes from someone who thinks it okay to wear a backpack on a bike.

If you're "very budget conscious", maybe you shouldn't be riding a motorcycle...because spending $200 to protect the lower half of your body is a wise investment.

I don't know where you're buying your gear from but you're literally paying 2-3 times what you need to.
£200 for jeans? £100 for gloves, I never have and never will pay that much for basic gear like that.
Past a certain price your just paying for the brand name.
