Captain Planet was indoctrination as well. Everything was SO exaggerated it was terrifying. It was one of my favorites as a kid but I was SO paranoid after watchibg it that the world would literally explode if I littered or didn't dispose of my batteries properly. There was even an episode where they told CHILDREN the dangers of not using proper family planning and having too many kids. Also had an episode with a Hitler-like character lol. Yes quite traumatizing.

Some of these I've never heard of before, or at least never seen before. Mostly because a lot of them are from the 90s, but also because it's mostly just American cartoons that air here in the Philippines. Very few of the sitcoms and live-action stuff made it here until like the early to mid-2010s or something.

I understand why she groaned when she found out VeggieTales was Christian, but honestly, VeggieTales is probably one of the best examples of Christian media in general, that show was great. I'm barely even a Christian anymore, but at least VeggieTales was pretty funny and tactful about it. Lots of modern Christian bands and churches and shows could learn a thing or two from VeggieTales, but they do incoherent propaganda instead of witty vegetables, to everyone's detriment.

I watched a very interesting video about the history of it not that long ago and I LOVED the show as a kid <3
