Dogs and humans are apex predators and we help and hunt together. You do not eat something on your side in the food chain. Dogs are not our prey. You hunt deer pigs birds fish etc but you do not hunt wild dogs to eat because we share same type of food sources. I don’t think it is common to see predators eat other predators among the mammals. Can you think of any? I don’t.
