Looks good I wish my dog didn’t have so many allergies-she is allergic to the turkey and egg:( we had her tested and she has so many allergies the only protein she can tolerate or absorb is pheasant, water buffalo, and certain types of seafood… if you have any limited ingredient recipes please share

That looks fairly simple.
I have been buying him fresh pet and he seems to somewhat enjoy it.
My Westie will be getting this soon, thanks.

Thank you for doing this easy and simple recipe. I made it for my dogs and they absolutely love them. I’ve recently started making homemade food for them and I appreciate your recipe. A good variety is nice. Thanks so much.

Thank you very much, I did order books and they are very helpful, also cook on low heat as that retails the vitamins and mineral in food!

Hello and thank you for such a great video do you have any ideas for a replacement of the rice in this recipe? My doggo has skin issues and we think it's because of grains so we want to omit them but add something to beef it up still

Thank you for sharing. If I may make a couple suggestions. First and foremost, there is no benefit from adding rice to the recipe. It provides little to no nutritional value and just carb loads your dog. The reason you see it in so many commercial dog foods is that it's a cheep filler, adds mass and calories, and helps as a binder to keep the kibble together. If going through the effort of cooking for your pet, stick to nutritionally rich food.
Second, and more controversial, is the garlic. Unlike onions and leeks, garlic has significantly less thiosulfate. By weight, onions have 15x more thiosulfate. Because they are all part of the allium family, garlic is lumped in with onion on things to never feed a dog. An often sited study (Lee et al, 2000) did show some lower red blood cell counts in dogs fed 120 grams of garlic a day (50 lb dogs), but none of them developed hemolytic anemia. Given that there are many health benefits to garlic, adding 1/2 clove (~5 grams) a day for a 50lb dog is something you can consider. I encourage a conversation with a vet that is well versed in homemade dog food about adding garlic. Just be weary of those pushing commercial dog foods from companies they are affiliated with, but that's a discussion for another day.

This is a great recipe, but I have studied a lot of holistic veterinarian advice. The meat should be 60 to 75% I give my 45 lb hound mix one raw egg on top every day, too. And also give fish oil or sardines.

I’m sorry about your dog. I hope Charlie is one of your dogs currently with you. We also lost one of our pups that way. We now have just two, but one is super picky about her food. Thanks for putting this up for us to see.

I've never cooked for my shih tzu's before but I'm interested. They like raw carrots and green beans. Do you serve it cold? And after thawing it out do you heat it?

My own version:
I add Sweet Potato, chopped Green Beans and chopped Parsley.

I also don't TRUST anything "ground" from the grocery store, ever since I bought ground beef for myself which was bright red on top and brown and slimy inside.

Personally, I boil TWO whole chickens. I strain out the cooked chickens, while saving the boiling water, and let them cool enough to remove the bones.

I then take the chicken bones and throw them back in the water, with the addition of beef shank bones (very inexpensive) to make a bone broth, which is the base liquid for the dog's food.

After seeing the truth, The USDA has lied to us: Humans are carnivores. Dogs are also carnivores. What give anyone the idea that we, or our dog, should eat anything other than meat, some organs, etc.

I make my dog's food every month. I make a Is huge bitch that takes me about Is four hours to make. But I gotta be careful because it only takes one drop of sweat on the food and it spoils it. It's hot where I live plus the cooking.

Nope. Not a complete food. Just an amateur telling the world how great her recipe is. Starts okay until 😱massive overload of carbs ( rice ) Lacks vitamins, calcium and zinc. That dog needs proper nutrition and this is NOT it. Consult a proper vet - heaven knows what idiot gave a stamp of approval to this dangerous diet.

I'd like to do this but not sure how to go about calculating how much in serving sizes they should have when in comes to home-cooked meals.
online it says 1 cup a day per 10lbs. Giving my dog 6-7 cups of food a day seems like alot since she only gets 3-3.5 of bagged food.

Great recipe but WAY too much rice and not enough protein. Plus, you need to add calcium and other nutrients.
