45ACP is subsonic, and it's loud. Sub sonic doesn't mean hearing safe.

Why i don't shoot ARs with subs, not enough ass to cycle a round unless you have an adjustable gas system. I have a silencerco hybrid 46m and my Q 8.6 blackout bolt action sounds like a pellet gun and is still devestating with that 1:3 twist. Thing is a copper meat grinder, you need to do some hunting with that round. Like to see you do a video on it.

You should have been running chrono or a Garmin that I keep telling you that you need 😳 because them 16” barrels may be breaking sound barrier. Lots of people complain that their subs are too fast. Also sound barrier can change with the elements if I’m not mistaken.

After my hearing test the lady ask if i was a shooter. I said yes and she said i was a lot more deaf in the left ear since my right ear was against the stock. With a can and supersonic it is still breaking the sound barrier "mach". therefore, you will still have the big crack sound "sonicboom". Take it from us old guys once your hearing is gone and replaced by 24/7 hissing/ringing it will drive you crazy.

Those ammo/rifle combos are terrible.

What did we learn? Don’t use subsonic for hunting, and don’t expect ammo to perform in a 16 inch barrel like it will in a 24 inch barrel. You loose about 250 fps on the bullet. Silencers are great. Remove them from the NFA.

Having only played with 7.62 and 5.56 I did find the 5.56 much louder due to the higher velocity.

I have some reman “subs” that are not quiet as they should be with my can on. I think the manufacturer may have loaded them a little hotter than they expected.

Who tf said a 300 blk is quiet with subsonic ammo alone? Also, why would you buy a bolt rifle chambered in that caliber? It's an AR caliber for a reason, it wasn't developed for a "bolt gun" .

Hell, subsonic 22LR isn't even quiet without a can. If it still has a lot of pressure after the bullet exits the bore, then it's gonna be loud. Now. 22 aguila colibri and super colibri ARE quiet without a can (with at least a 16" barrel) and the longer the barrel, the quieter it is. As a matter of fact, a colibri is quieter than the firing pin on a 20" barrel.

I good centre fire mod here in the UK starts at around £300 and climbs from there, anything that isn’t subsonic will still give a crack from the bullet breaking the sound barrier, but subsonic can be very very quiet

You need more gas on that subsonic to cycle correctly. If your gasblock is adjustable, load one at a time, and fire. Adjust for more pressure until it locks back every time. It’ll be over gassed with supers, but not as bad if you set it with, and always use the can on subs. It adds a little more back pressure.

Come on WTW sub sonics won't cycle a semi auto

You are correct, sub sonic is not quiet, as in, "hearing safe", but they are not as loud as the same loading in supers.👍
I keep my "bump in the night tool" loaded with 147 grain 9mm for this reason. Anything fired indoors without a suppressor is going to damage your hearing, the subs just damage it less.🤷‍♂ But a can is the perfect answer,👊 if you have one.😑😑😑
But I am in the same boat is you today, my hearing is pretty darn bad.🤦‍♂ Gen X is really paying for the utter lack of concern our politicians have for our well being and hearing aren't we?🤷‍♂ But hell, I don't much care what too many other people got to say anymore anyways.🤣🤣🤣

Only time you will notice sub ammo being quiet is when you run it thru a barrel long enough to get rid of all the powder burn like on 22lr with a 26in or longer barrel.
