It is a miracle that he was born in luxury and still had profound wisdom. I didn't know it was possible (rich kids are usually out of touch with reality).
ОтветитьRecognize the Fibonacci sequences of nature, that's one of the craziest things you can see. It's literally expressed in every single aspect of nature.
ОтветитьStoicism the pillar of minimalism. This philosophy and other eastern philosophy often teach us to appreciate nature. Take in the beauty of it. See the big picture accepting and acknowledge our place in this world. Be grateful. Be astounded. Be constantly be bewildered. Be appreciative. The beauty and power of Nature, be absorbed by it. Daily- even if it’s just for a few minutes.
The hardest part of an everyday joe like me is to find the balance and pause your self from the city life. Remove yourself away from it in every situation that the bustle sucks you into. It all boils down to control what can be controlled. And that is your emotion, reaction to things... etc., perspective on things.
Very difficult to do. Lifelong quest just to reach that very base tier one of personal enlightenment.
I've been taking photos of sunsets for years. It makes you slow down and makes you realize just how small we are. It silences the mind and keeps you rooted in the Now.
Ответить😘😍
ОтветитьI recognise Parelel lines between stoicism and taoism
ОтветитьNot much is needed to be content. How can it be otherwise?
ОтветитьOutdoors... It is great Ryan..
ОтветитьMy Seneca and Aurelius books are arriving today...can't wait...actually, yes I can! Patience. There's a part in a story by Somerset Maugham, were the protagonists sat to watch the greatest show on Earth and clap....the Sun coming up.
ОтветитьHave you ever noticed the parallel between stoicism and the sermon on the mount. Also, Psalm 19 could be reason for pause.
ОтветитьRyan you have really changed my mind about things in life much appreciated
Read most of your books super interesting thanks so much stay safe 😊
Nature is the greatest artist;
the best thing in life is free.
When did Cedars become "horrible & invasive?"

ОтветитьGrandma was right, "Stop and smell the roses."

ОтветитьThanks Ryan. It felt like I was there too.
ОтветитьNicely said. Thanks & cheers.
ОтветитьThan you SO much for your continuing support and inspiration. Many thanks from a stoic in London.
ОтветитьI hated my commute. I’d sit in traffic for an hour and just be miserable. Oahu traffic is rough.
So I figured out a way to kayak East, and drive against traffic. It’s faster to kayak, I get a good workout and EVERY morning, I rude my bike along the beach. Watch the sunrise. Watch ships. Watch birds. Crabs. Turtles. Fish. Etc.
And it’s made a world of difference in my life.
I love this every night before I go home and go to sleep I look up in the sky I just get this great feeling when I look up
ОтветитьThis is why I love art and music. For me, studying art teaches me to appreciate the inherent beauty of every mundane thing. Sometimes you have to look a little harder than other times to find beauty, but it's there in every little thing.
ОтветитьThis channel is amazing. Thank you Ryan.
ОтветитьYou can't appreciate the beauty of nature, from the most awesome sights to the simplest building blocks of it—if your mind is very heavy, cynical, burdened with alienation and lost inside itself.
If one can set that ego-driven mind aside for a minute and sit down to appreciate a sunset, or quietly walk in the woods, one is opening up to beauty that is all around us and can truly enrich our lives.
Love what you do, RH. Rock on.
Ответитьon a weekend afternoon, on our apartment's rooftop, I would wait and watch the sunset and witness how the sky changes its color from blue to orange-red. so nice <3
ОтветитьWhat are things you'd like to make more of an effort to enjoy in life?
