My updates do download, but then they fail during restart.

Neither of the two worked for me. Microsoft needs to repair their junk!

Neither method 1 or 2 worked for me, tried each twice. Haven't worked up the nerve to try the alternative method (disk partitions) yet, worried I will screw up the computer. Will wait to see if MS comes up with a fix.

We were getting on well but that moment you open the cmd then you copy, that's where things fall apart.😢 Where have you got the cms notepad to copy paste?

If this command increases the system installation partition "recovery" from 541 MB to 570 MB, then this option is working.
The problem arises, for most users, with the organization of partitions when installing relatively old versions of the system, say, as in 2020 and when installing new versions of the system, the old partitions were not deleted, but only formatted and the new way of the system, new partitions were not created.

Instead of going to the title bar, right click and select paste, you can just right click on the background and i'll paste instantly 🙂

We already try it, it doesn't work, the only way to fix this is to use Microsoft recommended methods:
1- KB5028997: Instructions to manually resize your partition to install the WinRE update
2- KB5034957: Updating the WinRE partition on deployed devices to address security vulnerabilities in CVE-2024-20666

or just wait for ms to fix it...
