OK, by what you say, this is not a yacht (let alone a super yacht). It is a passenger vessel...a cruise ship...a long-term occupancy cruise ship, but a cruise ship none-the-less.
So, the largest super yacht (by volume) is still Dilbar and the longest is Azzam.

Are large superyachts popular with Russian oligarch's because they fear a nuclear war and want to be in the middle of the Pacific when it happens?

Why are they yachts not super cruisers ? I'm not a mariner ( but have Viking in my blood line ) of the sea but the inland and inshore water way rule I have always been led to believe is sail takes precedence over motor vessels ....the reason being that it is more difficult to maneuver a yacht under sail as oppose to a cruiser. But why are these vessels classed as yachts ? is it something to do with maritime law?
I'm just curious as I have always thought that a yacht had to have a sail and wondered if you could explain the differences. If I am correct and sail has priority over motor then if one of these cruisers were to come into a situation of being near an actual yacht or sailing ship in the sea then would this right of way still apply to the sailing ship ? Just curiosity.
