It is the same garbage that is sold on Amazon and Ebay, only cheaper.

I have used temu before but what happened was that they took out about 30 dollars out of my bank account and caused my card to be locked up and I have to get a new one.

The issue I see with temu being with everything being mostly cheap it's almost like taking a kid to a candy store or a toy store when you know that the kid does want it all instead of thinking of what we need for the house or apartment being even I sometimes wish I can have all of the things that I haven't gotten as a kid but as an adult I do understand that sometimes you can't always have everything you want without putting a few things first before you get to spend on yourself or other people

I'm not sure if this is weird to comment, but your emotional intelligence, social awareness, and clear understanding of complex issues made me think how proud your parents must be of you. It's really impressive and admirable :)

This is what a lot of Chinese Companies are doing right now. Going straight to US and Europe, register a Fancy Brand Name and Company and start their business to undercut American Companies and Shops. So....

More people need to watch this. Very impressed at the way you laid out this video.
Over consumption is choking our society.

I've heard about Temu for quite a while, but i never even thought of using it cuz it looks like a mix od Wish and Aliexpress (although, admittedly, I've used the latter a couple times). Then, one day, among the ads on Instagram I've seen one for Temu that said that there was a free [I don't remember what] for new accounts, so I decided to try it out since I was actually in need for that thing. the moment I opened that app, I was greeted with that classic Chinese online shopping website, but I went on to the section for that free whatever and it prompted me to make an account to get that free thing. As soon as I made the account, it said that the thing was "free", but that I had to add at least 20€ of random stuff from a specific curated feed in order to get the free thing I wanted. I immediately deleted the account, uninstalled the app and left a 1 star rating on the AppStore

Ms. Nicole, Thank you for enlightening me about TEMU! About a month or so ago, I noticed a pattern of TEMU popping up over a dozen times every time I am on yahoofinance reviewing assets. When I see their pop-ups, I always click the "x" and “Seen this ad multiple times”, but TEMU continues to Terrify me with ads. I often asked myself, "what is this stuff for?" because it all looks worthless. I assumed they must have an audience and that I am "probably too old to understand"; or that TEMU is simply desperate. Thank you for clarifying to me that I am not missing anything when I avoid their link, and that my initial "where am I going to discard TEMU products when I am tired of them" is not just me.

There are two problems that you don't mention, but they are not Temu specific. Temu is just an inevitable consequence of global capitalism:
1. Weak and noisy (low signal to noise ratio) feedbacks between consumption/production and natural consequences (like Climate Change)
2. The dissolution and outcompeting of all levels of human organization below big companies and governments (like integrated psychological parts (aka individual humans), families, villages, tribes, federations of villages and tribes, small municipalities, and small companies).
Global socialism would have different problems, associated with dystopic authoritarianism. There is a possible solution to this dichotomy between dystopia and chaos/dissolution, and it has to do with localizing economies (tighter and less noisy feedbacks between them and nature), and integrating and restoring the lower levels of organization mentioned above. Creativity is not just an individual thing (and individuals are also collectives of psychological parts). It's also a function of being part of a family, a community, and a natural ecosystem. Creativity is also correlated to communion (between psychological parts and between individuals in a family and a community). So I feel creative (it's not just about the dopamine) by doing physics, math and social science research, by figuring out how to be more dependent on the land around me and my neighbors than on impersonal factories, by communing with my sweetie. I've also trained my brain to feel disgust every time I have to buy stuff from the global economy...

I tried out the temu app once. I added some small item that had a bunch of different options to my bag, and was gonna go back and add another one of the colors, but when I tried to click on the item, it just kept saying "item has added" and wouldn't go to the page. So I just gave up and uninstalled lol. 😂

I got sucked into Temu once for my mother when she needed a few warm things while sick. The sweater (17$ us) fell apart the first time I washed it. The pajamas were some fabric I didn't know existed and frankly, it shouldn't. The stuff smelled like chemicals. No thanks. That on top of what it's doing to the planet are abysmal.

I really liked how soothing these explanations from you were & its professionalism nonetheless. ✨☺️ Very true, valid points.

I feel a common theme unfortunately when it comes to these “trendy” ecommerce sites nowadays, is unfortunately how accessible it is for the majority. And I feel that’s a valid, and yet very unfortunate reason why people continue giving into it. Socioeconomic factors definitely pay a huge role, and I believe That’s likely why their annoyingly inaccurate slogan and even surely backed-up brainwashing - backed researches for brain neurology and consumption of an extensively expensive amount goes into it to practically damage our majority - gimmicks (greenwashing I believe is what it’s called towards fast fashion trends & unnecessary “goodies”) is heavily promoted.*

They use the majority’s weakened access point to really give away into their profits.*
Of course everyone wishes to be adjunct to their current times, unfortunately, then there’s the gimmicks of greenwashing.* • It’s definitely important to be aware of it, take breaks or pauses as necessary & actually not worry so much in trends etc. • I feel I’ve fortunately Always been this way of knowing when to call bs as well & not live for anybody else (of negative opinions or projections or expectations etc to not be ruled by others in example), humility is the best value.

Though, it’s more so in my adulthood honestly, where I realized, I deserve to actually allow myself to have a bit more of what I didn’t before (which is healing), and/or at least be conscious in what it is I see myself Actually using or needing, timelessness in example, and quality, well-fitted pieces into my wardrobe, — Letting ourselves even go weeks before committing to buying anything, surprisingly also Really helps. And just true, being more of a conscious consumer (nobody’s perfect but we can at least acknowledge: we shouldn’t Always give into shopping 😂🙏🏼 I hope!) ~ *Make it rare occasional treats. :) If anything.

Wait, you have a video on how consumerism is destroying our planet, but I look at your background, and it's full of consumer products. Are you, therefore, part of the problem?
Plus, most if looks like it was made in china, further adding to the problem.

So, are you a hypocrite?
