Remember the oil was always there, if not a well a quake or volcanic activity will break those sea beds some day. Better to tap and use then wait for a crack. Some salt domes have even sank ships when cracked and often salt and oil are found together.

More proof if any more was needed, fossil fuel corps & military interests have bought National Geographic to keep the vast Tax Payer subsidies flowing into Corp profits. These filthy lethal industries using evil US PR corps are our meteor ☄️ & mass extinction.
I stopped buying Nat Geo long ago as soon as I saw more & more industry & military PR pervert a once great publication from its mission of education & science.

This guy was talking about how tall the wave would be from the tsunami and went from 100ft tall to half a mile (2640 ft)

That’s a huge difference. Very unlikely it was half a mile tall…

No matter what a person thinks about oil products, the sheer amount of engineering, and efforts put into the deep water drilling is impressive

Logically, this event was unique. The Bible already talks about sulfur around 2000 years ago. It was a unique, precise, accurate and infallible event.

Years ago I used to depend on this kind of information from National Geographic and the History Channel but unfortunately there is so much misinformation, dramatization of the facts and people's opinions that are made to sound like facts, that this is not reliable information. the moment I knew this episode wasn't reliable was when one of the so-called scientists said that "66 million years ago is the exact moment the dinosaurs were destroyed." we have no way of knowing the moment, the day, the year, thousands or millions of years. there are three different methods of radio carbon dating and when scientist take the time to do all three methods on one specimen, every time, the dates are different by thousands and ten-thousands of years. I watched 8 minutes and 52 seconds of this episode and could watch anymore. I'm extremely sad I'm frustrated that there is less and less reliable information that I can refer my children and grandchildren to.

It looks like the storytellers forgot something when making up this fantasy... the land masses of the Earth were not in the shapes they show. "Oops!"
According to the "models," the Gulf of Mexico didn't even exist. Pangaea, dears. .. next time you plan to make stuff up. Call me and ask for pointers of how you can make it sound more "believable" - cover your bases better (or if you want me to keep my mouth shut from pointing out your mistakes) I will charge.

A tidal pool, Charybdis.

Her waters appear calm.

She invites you in,

but she is a thing
of terror, Odysseus.

When she opens her gaping mouth,

you and all with you,

will be swallowed by her force!
Ha-ha-ha.

-The Odyssey (1997)

The only thing to understand is that the 🇺🇸 government and the elite did this on purpose. They wanted the treasures that the gold of Mexico has. Never minding that is Mexico’s land but they don’t care. They’ve stolen land before. They didn’t care about the creatures living in the gulf, they cared more about money and how much they would find. 🇺🇸 doesn’t do anything for free. They play the hero but they’re the devil.
