Got a question. Can't get answer from ruger without giving serial numbers . Tell them , model 5501. New super redhawk 44 mag . Double action 7 1/2 barrel. Will the rosewood inlayed grip of a 454 fit it ? Thank you all..

How old is this particular revolver? Was it previously used? Heavily? The images of the revolver were fleeting, and never shows the barrel crown: Is it one of the early solid barrels, or one of the more recent shrouded ones? The reason I ask is because as the video proceeds, the cylinder is increasingly scorched with carbon, as is the REAR of the top-strap, as if there was an excessive gas leak somewhere. Although a heavily used revolver can have an excessive cylinder-to-forcing cone gap, I would presume that carbon scorching would most affect the front of the top strap, not the back.

The new Blackhawk 44 mag is the way to go, the red hawk isn’t manufactured to the strong specs as the new black hawk. Ruger should stop manufacturing the red hawk.

They should have made a 4 to 5 inch barreled SRH. If that were available 15 years ago when I bought my 4 inch Redhawks in 44mag, I would definitely have gotten the SRH instead. There are a lot more grip options for the SRH than the Redhawk :)
