This movie was utterly stupid IMO. They are restaurant workers, they aren't curing cancer!

And Michelin's bullshit is precisely what's wrong with that segment of hospitality. I worked for a man who refused a Michelin star five years in a row, cause he didn't want perfect, he wanted people to be *happy*. It worked. We made people happy. Not pretentious.

I ate with a chef who once worked in a Michelin Star kitchen when he was young. The head Chef of that time shrugged his shoulders when he got the letter and award that informed him of the achievement. If you have to do anything different than the routine to be awarded A Michelin Star, then did you ever really deserve it, and if you behave in any other way than makes you beloved by your devoted clientele, whom are you really trying to impress? Just some food for thought. IF, you are what you are, then Recognition or not, you would not be any different, if you do only what you to do to be recognised by anyone other than your peers, then why even set out on the journey to begin with.

They kill themselves to have that star, kill themselves to maintain it and kill themselves if the loose it.
So it Better not to have it. Just make good food, people will come.

The critics were too harsh on this film. I always thought it was super underrated and way over-hated. Cooper and Bruhl were fantastic in every scene.

I worked as a waiter for….

43 minutes.

Brought the right order… she said it was wrong. Called over the manager…. Openly lied to him in front of me, her friend said “Cheryl, you didn’t…” then cut her off…

So I just said… loudly… “you are a f’ing liar and you know it trashbag!” Then walked out.

👍🏻

Maybe they wear their business suits because that's the dress code of a fine dining restaurant. Not because they're from Michelin.

Also what waiter checks the floor. Check the customers and that the food is good, then I am happy

The so called hospitality/restaurant industry is full of sycophants/ tyrants and good old fashioned boot lickers
The more sophisticated the more this applies
It’s all a façade
Cesspools of abuse - alcohol- drugs - physiological - emotional - etc etc
The customer is the most disliked part of the job
As a customer you are the jerk de jour
I hope you enjoy your meal 😂😂
