Searching up rabies was the biggest mistake of my whole life. I'm horrified of it.

i got rabies vaccinations and "vaccine refresh" several times in my life, starting as a child. I live in Germany. Everyone should get vaccinated, esp. before you go on travelling to a 3rd world country with lots of free running dogs and wildlife nearby....

I didn't know too much about rabies up until a few years ago. I am TERRIFIED OF IT!

Is a bit misleading. If you go by numbers it would be more accurate to say "medicine almost certainly wont be able to help you at all."

When I was in second grade I would walk home from school through a park, and one day I met up with a dog in that park, and it followed me home. My mother was in the yard hanging out laundry on the clothes line, and she turned to welcome me home, and saw the dog walking up behind me. She started screaming for me to get in the house and stay there. She coaxed it into our garage, and called the police. They came along with animal control and took the dog, but not before grilling me, asking me if it touched me, or scratched me, and I kept telling them no, it had only followed me. I had tried to pet it, but it wouldn't let me. Because I had tried to pet it, they said I could still get it if I touched the saliva, so I still had to go to the hospital and get looked over, and they told my parents the dog was rabid, and it needed testing to be sure, and if it didn't live 10 more days they were going to put me through the treatments to be safe. Thankfully, I didn't have to. When I was older and asked my mom how she new it was sick, she told me it was foaming at the mouth, and jerking. Rabies is why we must vaccinate our cats and dogs, and because we do vaccinate, we no longer have a problem in this country. with rabies. There are countries that do not vaccinate, and they have many cases and deaths a year as a result. You can get it from other animals and bats, but the main spreaders are cats and dogs. I sure got lucky! I had an angel guarding me for sure. Before someone says it, this was back in the early 50's when all kids walked back and forth to school, often by themself. I had no fear of people, and no one ever bothered me. I wish it were that way for children today.

the thing is, if we werent still partially in control of ourselves when infected and the pre onset vaccines didnt exist, rabies would literally be the PRIME example of a zombie viras

Now days if you develop symptoms of rabies well if you live in the USA. They will most likely put you in a deep coma. Not for survival but to avoid a horrible slow hellsh death.

It is very much discussed in the medical community and that is why most doctors tell you to get the treatment anyway just in case.

I think this disorder happens for reasons not being told. Theres an odd history and unanswered questions.

I had a friend in third grade who got rabies, we used to sit together. When school reopened after the break, he was absent for almost two weeks and came back with something like a gauze over his mouth. I transferred shortly after. When i went back there and asked of him, i was told that he died. Our teachers already told us that he would, he also knew that he would. But it still hurt

Let's take a moment to thank God, in all his wisdom, for creating rabies.

In my childhood, I came inches close to a rabid dog. Rabid dogs would act all of a sudden. One moment they are sitting quietly, the next moment they will slowly walk to you and without any symptoms of agression, stick their teeth into you. The one that I had encounter with, died within next 3 days. At that time I did not understand the severity at all, no one really did. But now that I understand, I get shivers!

MY FIRST EIGHT MONTHS WITH RABIES were not too bad. I had a runny nose and slight discomfort in my left thumb. I was occasionally irritable, especially when my rabies medicine was late. I slept a lot and ate sparingly. I hope that by this time next year my rabies symptoms will be less severe.

Bruh, everybody thinks a zombie outbreak is far fetched fiction but all rabies needs to do is evolve to rapidly progress in hosts and develop a need to reinfect and Houston, we’ve got a problem.
