A home without an orchestra ready to play as soon as you start humming is no home at all.
ОтветитьAfter all these years, I still miss hearing Bing Crosby's golden voice on the radio. And now Bowie has gone.
ОтветитьJust for a moment after they begin singing you can see the joy on both their faces as they realize their harmony is perfect ❤💚❤
ОтветитьStill my favourite christmas song xx
ОтветитьThis is so hauntingly and chillingly beautiful. I used to hear this a lot as a kid/teen. I wanna say the first time I heard it, I was somewhere between grade school and junior high or maybe even high school. Anywhere from the late 90’s to early 2000’s. I’m thinking one of my teachers had the radio on a station that was playing Christmas songs, and this came on. The thing I remember was what I was thinking when I heard it. Up until then, I’d only heard the straight “Little Drummer Boy, and that’s how I knew it. When I heard this, I was like, “Oh that’s different”. I don’t think I appreciated it as much back then, but man, it hits me so deeply now as an adult. I get chills when I hear and think of the lyrics both artists sing. I’m actually doing this in a Christmas show coming up with a friend of mine. I’m doing Bing’s part, and he’s doing David’s. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Ответитьfantastic!
ОтветитьVery Beautiful
ОтветитьThis hits differently to me now that both of them are gone.
Ответить😢
ОтветитьI’ll hazard a guess that this charming transatlantic pairing or partnership between Bing and Bowie for Christmas of 1977 must have been the most engaging and surprising of Anglo-American coming-togethers in all things entertainment since that comic duo of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy got the Special Relationship off to a shaky, chaotic start in the Twenties and Thirties.
ОтветитьThe funny feeling from watching this is the sense even back then about how connected people were by virtue of watching analogue television broadcasts when they were scheduled just once: you and your family watched it, and probably talked about it with your neighbour, colleague, school friends, the next day. All before mobile phones and emails and internet and social media!
Ответить🔺️🕊
ОтветитьLove this song legend s
ОтветитьI love this duo. A visit to watch this video is a ‘must do’ for me every year on the run up to Christmas.
ОтветитьA great tradition listening to this every Christmas. A beautiful song sung by two legends.
ОтветитьAbsolutely Wonderful xox
ОтветитьBeing maudlin, this duet always makes me gush tears. Love the juxtaposition of songs, melodies. The new sensation-old sensation gag is fun,. For similar humour, see duet by Bing and Frank Sinatra in the movie High Society: song, What a Swell Party This Is.
Frank: Don’t dig that kind of croonin’, chum.
Bing: You must be one of those new fellas.
I love this song. D. B. was my hope in the youth
ОтветитьUnfortunately the eternal answer is no. Ukraine, Hamas, Russia, Israel all at war of land that we have abundance of and religions that fictional. Man's resolve to killing one another for other mens greed and brainwashing will never surprise me anymore. Sheep and that's an insult to sheep. The idea of Christmas is a nice one. Santy has more meaning these days though.
ОтветитьCan it be? I pray wish will come true.....
ОтветитьMasterpiece x I'm 47 and my Dad gave me this joy when I was 10 x
ОтветитьThis is a tear jerker 😅❤
ОтветитьI do remember when this first aired. Must have been about 10/11 years old.... always listen to this each year at this time....
ОтветитьI remember this when it first aired, and I was gobsmacked!
ОтветитьI probably saw this when it aired, but I don't remember. I was 10, but I know my mother always watched the classic Christmas specials every year: Bob Hope, Perry Como, Bing Crosby, etc.
Every time I see the little conversation before the song, I just think, "There's not a chance in hell Bing has any idea who this guy is."
Magic 🎅 Stuff 👍 🥳
ОтветитьGreat duet from these musical legends.
ОтветитьTwo legends! What a beautiful Christmas classic! Friends, it's timeless!
ОтветитьThis. This is the stuff you come back to no matter what comes to pass.
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьNever been a fan of Christmas music but this version is one of my all time favorites. RIP Bowie
ОтветитьWhat memories does this bring back. Merry Christmas all.
ОтветитьPeace on eaaaarth
ОтветитьPlot twist: Hudson is mad at Bing for letting Bowie use his piano.
ОтветитьMy father told me this was his favorite Christmas song when I was a kid and I didn’t understand why and now I’m old I understand why
ОтветитьI love DBs teeth before he got them capped❤
ОтветитьFantastic! There is a mutual respect here that's genuine and amazing. Timeless also.
ОтветитьAnother year of Bowie and Bing singing the most beautiful Christmas duet of my life. ❤
ОтветитьFrom the opposite spectrums of music fifty years apart, who would have thought those voices would be magical together, what a spectacular Xmas song, brings me to tears.. 🎅
ОтветитьBeautiful ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьI want to live in a world where David Bowie is my neighbor and he drops by at random times to sing to me.
ОтветитьI'm not sure if I thanked you last year for sharing this, so I will say Thank You again this year. It isn't Christmas until I hear this without teaching it down. It rakes my breath away each time I hear it. I saw this when it played on TV back when I was really young & it has stuck with me since. Merry Christmas & God bless you!
Ответить👍👍👍🌲
ОтветитьThis song and video came on MTV back on Christmas morning in the 80's and I have always loved it, one of my favorite Christmas songs ever. RIP Bing n David❤😢❤😢. A Great duet with these 2 Music Legends
ОтветитьAbsolutely 💯 beautiful God Bless 🙏 them both ....this is Christmas 💕
ОтветитьI like this chilled out old version of Crosby after he conquered alcoholism and replaced it with 420.
Ответитьwow...beautiful.
ОтветитьHow their voices complement each other. A lovely Christmas song, from two much missed legends.
