Definitely, Kung Fu has a level of complexity that allows that fighter to have the upper hand. If the referee wouldn't be there, the Kung Fu fighter would have ended the combat quite early, disabling the poor man.

Agree! Both fighters displayed good techniques but the Kung Fu fighter seemed having the upper hand. Nonetheless, the fight was restricted by the tournament rule similar to that of TKD tournament. No PUNCHING.... not even to the chest, WHY?

I'm Chinese but I don't even believe in our own martial arts, I believe in Muay Thai though. I'm intrigued why westerners love Chinese Kungfu so much?

There needs to be more of this on the internet....most traditional martial arts is paid out on as being bullshido and innefective , kung fu guy here shows otherwise

The kung fu guy looks like he's combined Taekwondo with Kung-fu. The low guard the upright stance and the way he chanes positions and uses the kicks to keep distance and the speed of them tells me he's done some Taekwondo training. He knows his stuff but I dont think that's pure kung fu

Excellent combat, each martial art has its own thing

What i think kung fu can actually do better than most other martial arts is make the body more limber and train it to move in more ways than other arts. Essentially making the body flexible and powerful from even awkward positions whereas karate (not exclusively but karate for example) tends to train the body only to be strong or efficient from a strict form or position. So a karate punch typiccally is only strong when thrown from the right karate punch stance, whereas kung fu allows you to throw almost any punch and maintain power and force behind it.

Other than that, the art techniques themselves arent necessarily the factor behind winning or losing, but rather how they shape and develop the body to function as a weapon.

And they say "Kung Fu is useless".. as a fellow kung fu practioner, I'm really proud, sifu❤
