WARNING: There are a number of scammers who are using my image and
channel name to try to connect with my viewers on WhatsApp and other
platforms to scam them. Just so you know, I will never refer you to
"my personal trader" or try to connect with you personally to sell you
something. I am trying to ban these scammers as quickly as they pop up. You can
always recognize a scammer by clicking on the image and seeing how
many videos he has. All of these guys have zero videos, while I have
hundreds. I also now have a checkmark next to my name, so that you can distinguish the real Trader University from the imposters.

Since a a thumb drive could be formatted with encryption for security, why couldn’t it be used to store cryptocurrency as opposed to a hardware wallet? Is a hardware wallet that much more reliable against data corruption?

Excellent - I had wanted to know the process for signing a payment transaction and this is the first (only) video that describes it!

Knowing that the transaction is sent to the cold wallet, then signed and sent back, alleviated my concerns.

I was skeptical mistakenly thinking the cold wallet had to send the private key to the computer to process, I did not know this part of the process was done inside the cold wallet, until watching this video!

Great info!

Thank you!

what keeps me from just trying 12 or 24 words. since you dont have a username - password kombination it should be easy to automate it -> check if there is something in the wallet -> if not moving on to another word kombination? a good computer should be able to do that a couple million times a day or am i wrong?

Really good explanation. I understand how the seed phrase works with Btc now- but how does it work when you have for eg, a trust wallet with Btc and altcoins on different chains. Secured with one seed phrase..?

Hi Matthew, I have a question: You refer to the private keys for Bitcoin. But i know someone who has a Trezor with altcoins and no Bitcoin. They also have a 12 work recovery seed for their Trezor. I is it correct that the recovery seed accesses all coins on the Trezor including Bitcoin and altcoins?

I'm not sure if someone already mentioned in the comments, but the smallest number is 0, so if it is a 0, then it will use the 1st word the bip39 list. If the number is 538 then it will use the 539th word in bip39 list, which is 'drive'.

But when you connect your hard wallet to the blockchain in order to make a transaction either through USB, Bluetooth, or whatever, don't you run the danger of someone gaining access to your private key? Isn't your private key online during that period of connection, given that the hardware device housing it is online at that moment, even if briefly? Please can you Matt, or any other knowledgeable person take on this question? Thanks.

Okay, I have my 1 billion dollars, 12 word keys in my head. Is the only way to regain control again with a fresh BIP39 compatible cold wallet?
Or could I dangerously enter those keys into an ATM to withdraw money without a phone in my pocket. See the hardware dilemma.

Are you concerned that the paper futures will be used to “manage” the price of Bitcoin? The enemies of BTC specialize in this sort of activity. GATA has been exposing them for years, to no avail, in the precious metals market.

Hello, thank you for your video
Can I ask you two questions, those problems may be a bit long,
Sorry for letting you take the time to answer me

The first question is about signing transaction
According to sign input function in many cryptocurrency codes, the signing process must aware of the data structure of transactions.
For a cold wallet with sign function, is it means this cold wallet need to know all transaction structures of most cryptocurrency,
so it can receive raw transaction send from a full node or desktop, sign it then send the fully signed transaction back,
or the wallet just receive a series of 32 bytes message according to each input and sign it (it may be unsafe)

The second question is transaction fee for miners.
Some transaction fee is send to miner through additional transaction output,
considering one who made a transaction and broadcast it to the Internet, is that different miner must add their own address and send the transaction back for signing?
If a people broadcast a transaction to multiple miners, is it means he needs to signed every version of transactions with different transaction fee output for every miner?
Or miners just calculate the difference of coin between each transaction inputs and outputs and add it to block reward?
(each transaction "burn" some coin, and miner creates new coin according to the destroyed amount without signed output by senders)

Thank you

If my hardware wallet contains Bitcoin and 2 or 3 altcoins and it's destroyed in a fire, will my seed phrase recover only the Bitcoin and not the altcoins? If so how may I safeguard the altcoins?

It seems like the biggest risk to BTC at the moment is that most people are simply not smart enough to use it as intended - especially with the advent of public exchanges making it trivially easy to buy without having to go through the process of cold storage. Correct me if I’m wrong - and you mentioned this in another video - but if we get to the point where most BTC is held on exchanges and/or by major banks, and the government locks it down , that’s game over right? No liquidity = no value? Is the only play at that point to sit on your coins, wait for the government to collapse, and hope the new order trades with BTC?
