This has been in the works for about 3 months now. Our first full documentary shoot. There is a lot of negativity in the comments from people who have not even watched the video yet. This channel is about being positive about engineering. Encouraging and inspiring the next generation of engineers. If you are looking for a channel that focuses on being negative and adds nothing to world, you have come to the wrong place. It's so much easier to point out what's hard, than using your brain to think of solutions. That's not what engineers do. We find problems, and then we find solutions. If you don't think a company that's trying to throw satellites into space, and has already built a 1/3rd prototype, isn't insanely cool. I don't know what to do for ye. That's badass. Whether they succeed or not is irrelevant. It's not your investment money they are using, chill out.

This is one of the most amazing things I've seen. I have learned so many incredible things this year from the improvements of stem cells canceling out antiviral meds, polio being used to kill cancer in the AIDS virus, the covid-19 vaccine and now literally creating the world's fanciest slingshot to take on the ultimate Goliath endless space. My God this world is brutal but some of the people in it, they make it worth everything

spin in a vacuum at 5000mph, release, upon exit the projectile breaks vacuum, slams into the wall of air and causes a sonic boom that destroys the top of the chute and the instantaneous heating of the projectile tip melts as there is not enough time to dissipate the the heat buildup.

Can we throw satellites to space? Sure, I can, just give me one. I played college ball you know, could've gone pro if I hadn't joined the Navy, but I bet I can throw your satellite into orbit. How? Nanomachines, son.

Gr8 idea, nice video . What about electromagnetic force utilise instead of counter balance issue that causes jerking while releasing( releasing counter weight complications can be avoide)?!

To put that in perspective, a Yamato-class battleship with the most powerful gun ever built by human kind can shoot a 3 tons shell at Mach 2.2 and (only) 46km away and this is reaching the limit of what is physically possible. Now this project propose to shoot a 10 tons bullet at Mach 6 around 100km away containing a rocket engine and maybe some electronics. The best they can do is 1.3 Mach. Gun based ballistic launcher can do everything much better for a fraction of the cost and complexity. This project is like trying to make a horse run faster than a car by adding aerodynamic fins on the horse.

I wonder why they're being so secretive. It's not like there are other companies around trying the same thing, are there?

I wonder why springs are not involved. You'd think a massive loaded spring could benefit this setup.

Guy climbing the ladder while carrying a coffee? Weird that makes it to the video. Safety systems fail caught on camera!

The tether would need to be able to literally suspend an entire Nimitz class nuclear carrier.

How come they'll show the rocket leaving the launch platform? But they never show the rocket igniting. After a certain point and continue is journey to space. There's cut the footage once the racket exit.😂😅

Turns out spin launch isn't all that seems to be it's a waste of money. And it doesn't actually work the way they said it would.😂😅

this is going to take more time and money than it's worth to solve. the cannon launcher you show at the end is so much cheaper

Why did they make it a spinning arm ? why not a spinning disk with a counterweight..?
