Do l need a device as well as electric

They are becoming obsolete because it is nearly impossible to find ribbon catridges. They are not made anymore, are they? Except for the thermal typewriters, which can write on thermal paper and don't need ribbon, like the Canon Typestar, the Casiowriter and others.

I have a Sears Communicator, and it works well, but there's a lot of kerning, so the characters print really close together on the page. Has anyone out there encountered a similar issue?

Mine has left and right margin keys which I would have assumed would be to move the starting margin but so far as I can tell, they don't do anything. It makes a sound when I press them but from there, nothing seems to change.

I have an Olivetti ET Personal 55. It has two green lights on the left side of the keyboard, one is obviously the ON light, but what is the other one for? It says EDIT under it. Thanks in advance.

Most IBM Slectric typewriters are not electronic at all. They are electric. A few later specialized Selectrics were electronic, but not the ones that we are likely to encounter.

Do you have any link about where can I buy a Operator Manual (in my case is a IBM Wheelwriter 6.) I was looking in Ebay or Amazon or in google and they sand to me to those app. but they dont show me options, only some typewriter or parts or something else but not specifically the operator manual I’m looking for.. I used to have an electronic typewriter, which I got rid of years ago. I recently got a yearning to have another one, so decided to look on ebay. I’ve bought a Silver Reed EX75 (which was the Asia model (Mitsunami) but I’m looking for replacement ribbon cartridges, which I can’t seem to find online anywhere. If anyone has any idea where I can get a compatible cartridge (and correction ribbon) that’d be great. Thanks.

I have a Panasonic R340 and the thing you type with is stuck right in the middle of the page. No idea how to fix this, I don’t think it’s a tab issue but I’m not sure. Any help would be appreciated

Recently I bought a Olivetti electronic typewriter called Lettera 39EC.
I could type a bit but when I pushed “power return” key, the machine seemed shut down or locked.
I still barely can hear the sound of motor.
Is there anyone help me, so appreciated.

Where could someone buy an electronic typewriter (online preferably, I've looked a bit on Ebay) and at what prices? I am looking for something affordable and decently reliable that is electronic (no need for a screen) and that I can find easily along with ribbons, a good keyboard is a requirement. The reason the paper wouldn't go down when you turned the platen knobs, is because you pull them out. Make sure you don't move it outwards when you are going to feed it paper.

I have an electric TA Alder-Royal Satellite 40. Its used and missing some non-essential parts. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to set the margins or move the writer thingy back to the beginning of the page.
