I see you commented that a domain is a one time purchase. But everywhere i look it says a domain can only be leased and not owned by someone. I leased a domain trough a major hosting company and would like to move it to my own server. But this does not seem possible, although it seems you say it "is" possible ?
Maybe you could explain in a video or comment how to buy a domain as a one time purchase and then make it your own (trough home server or just by having it in hibernation so someone else can't buy it)

Great tutorial Dani. It appears Hostgator's interface has been upgraded so I got stuck trying to extract my files using Filezilla and wanted to go directly on File Manager in Hostgator. Under public html, there several subfolders: cgi-bin (which is empty), wp-admin, wp-content, and wp-includes. cgi-bin doesn't let me upload a folder. is there a workaround for this?

I noticed the screen recorder - If you click windows key + G you can actually use the built in screen recorder and its much more efficient rather than using a third party recorder. Just a tip. Enjoy.
